Jesse Watters Makes Bold Comment About Billy Bush’s Next Job After Joining Fox News

Jesse Watters welcomed Billy Bush to Fox News on Tuesday night (September 22) by joking with him that a gig at the network means a potential future job in Donald Trump‘s administration.

Bush joins Fox News as a contributor across all platforms and made his debut on Jesse Watters Primetime on Tuesday. After congratulating the former Access Hollywood host on the new gig, Watters joked, “You know what that means? Can I warn you about something, Billy? Now that you work here, Trump might hire you for the cabinet.”

“Well, which department?” Bush replied, playing along with the bit.

“Do you wanna be AI czar?” Watters retorted. “What do you want? There could be some openings.”

Watters: Billy Bush, our brand new Fox News contributor. Congratulations. You know what that means? Now that you work here, Trump might hire you for the cabinet. You want to be AI czar?

Bush added, “Is [the Department of] Interior available? I feel like that’s not doing much.”

“Burgum?!” Watters responded, referring to the current head of the Department of Interior, Doug Burgum. “How dare you! He’s been hard at work! Haven’t you been following?”

Bush then suggested the role of White House press secretary, which is still wide open following Karoline Leavitt‘s departure last month. “Hey, I love it!” Watters said. “I would probably expect [Trump] to hire a woman, but you’re not bad-looking, Billy. You might be able to pull it off.”

“I have female energy,” Bush quipped.

Bush, the nephew of former President George H.W. Bush and cousin of former President George W. Bush, has quite the history with Trump, having been caught up in the 2005 Access Hollywood hot mic controversy.

During Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, audio leaked from the 2005 episode, in which Trump could be heard making lewd comments while chatting with Bush. “When you’re a star… you can do anything. Grab ’em by the p***y,” Trump said while Bush laughed in response.

Bush, who later apologized and said he was “embarrassed and ashamed,” lost his job as Today cohost after the tape leaked. Trump also apologized for his comments and went on to beat Hillary Clinton in the 2026 presidential election.

While Watters might have been joking with Bush about a cabinet position, there is some truth behind the gag. Several Fox News personalities have gone on to serve in the Trump administration, including former The Five cohost Jeanine Pirro, former Fox & Friends Weekend cohost Pete Hegseth, former Fox Business host Sean Duffy, and more.
