Fox News’ Julie Banderas Takes Swipe at AOC After Dating Comment
What To Know
- Fox News anchor Julie Banderas mocked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on air, claiming no conservative would want to date her.
- Ocasio-Cortez told TMZ she likely wouldn’t date a conservative due to differing values.
- The Democrat previously accused Fox News host Jesse Watters of sexual harassment.
Fox News anchor Julie Banderas insulted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Tuesday’s (September 1) Jesse Watters Primetime, saying that “no conservative would want to date her” and only a “brave soul” would want to father her children.
Banderas and Watters were discussing comments Ocasio-Cortez made to TMZ reporter Charlie Cotton, who asked her, “Would you ever date a conservative?” The lawmaker initially laughed at the question, to which Cotton responded, “Is that anything you would ever entertain?”
“I have to say it’s probably not,” Ocasio-Cortez answered. “No foul to people who do. And of course, how you define that is very different from person to person, right? But I think a lot of politics sometimes, at least for me, is about values, and being aligned in values I think is tremendously important.”
Watters addressed Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks on Tuesday’s show, saying, “AOC’s back on the market. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but she dumped her fiancé. But she’s got standards for her next prince charming.”

After playing a clip of the Congresswoman’s comments, Banderas said, “Girl, no conservative would want to date you. You are not untapping a mystery here. I mean, first of all, she broke up, she froze her eggs, she’s eventually going to put them in, and maybe some brave soul will stand up and be the father of those poor little children.”
She added, “Why would a conservative ever want to marry her?”
“Well, we didn’t say ‘marry,'” Watters responded. “Just date.”
Banderas retorted, “Well, I know, but at her age, she’s gonna eventually want to have a husband, I think.”
“Only available to liberals,” Watters said to close out the segment.
Earlier this year, Ocasio-Cortez turned down an offer to appear on Jesse Watters Primetime after a producer approached her to ask if she’d join the Fox News host on his show. The politician rejected the invite and accused Watters of “sexually harassing” her.
“He’s accused me of… he has sexualized me on his show, he has sexually harassed me on his show, he has engaged in horrific, sexually exploitative, um, rhetoric,” Ocasio-Cortez told the producer. “He accused me of wanting to sleep with Stephen Miller. So why don’t you tell me what you think is acceptable to tell a woman?”
She was referring to a remark Watters made on an October 2025 episode of Fox News’ The Five. On the show, Watters and his fellow panelists were discussing comments AOC made about White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, in which she mocked his short stature.
“I think AOC wants to sleep with Miller,” Watters said on The Five. “It is so obvious. And, I’m sorry, you can’t have him.”
Ocasio-Cortez later doubled down on her rejection, writing on X, “You can either be a pervert or ask me to be on your little show. Not both.”
