Today co-host Al Roker and his wife, Deborah Roberts, enjoyed an “out of this world” date night at the official opening of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 19.
The next morning, Roberts took to Instagram with a carousel of photos from the outing. The featured image was a selfie Roberts, 65, took alongside her meteorologist husband, 72, in front of a “Lucas Museum of Narrative Art” display.
“It was an out of this world night at the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art,” she captioned Sunday’s update. “This fabulous space, filled with artistic treasures is simply heart stopping. Thank you @mellodyhobson and George Lucas for your genius, generosity and gift to the world. And a heck of a party!”
Other shots included celebrities like Lucas himself and Lucas’ wife, Mellody Hobson, Harrison Ford, Queen Latifah, Oprah Winfrey, Samuel L. Jackson, Gayle King, and Jon Batiste, among others.
Meanwhile, Roker also shared photos from the night on his Instagram grid. His compilation of moments from the evening included shots of Cynthia Erivo, Robert de Niro, and more.
“The Met. The Louvre. The Prado. And now, the @lucasmuseum,” the Today personality began his update. “To be able to say we were the opening of the next great art museum, dedicated to storytelling through imagery is such an honor. And there is so much more than @starwars here. From cave paintings, to graphic novels, manga and Norman Rockwell, the history of visual narrative is here.”
Roker concluded, “Do not miss it. Thank you George Lucas and @mellodyhobson for this gift to the world.”

Roker and Roberts have been married since 1995 and share two children, Leila, 27, and Nick, 24. Additionally, Roker welcomed a daughter, Courtney, 39, with his late ex-wife, Alice Bell. He is also a grandfather to Courtney’s daughter, Sky, 3.
