Dave & Jenny Marrs Take Fans Inside a Day Filming ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Season 8

Filming for Season 8 of Fixer to Fabulous is officially underway, and Dave and Jenny Marrs brought fans along for a day on set.

“Come along for a day behind the scenes with us — from job site visits and design decisions to meetings, problem-solving, and everything in between,” the HGTV couple captioned a behind-the-scenes video on their joint Instagram account on Wednesday, August 5. “Renovating homes is only part of what our days look like, and we’re grateful you get to be along for the journey.”

In the video, the pair’s day began at 8:30 a.m. at their first work site of the day. Jenny chatted with the show’s fan-favorite carpenter Joe Looney while Dave worked on a built-in bookshelf inside the home.

“9:30 AM homeowner check-in,” the screen read over footage of Jenny on the phone with clients. Half an hour later, Jenny was back inside helping Dave work on the home’s kitchen before hitting the road for “fabric selections” at 11:30 a.m.

“Joe joined me today on our field trip. How was it, Joe? First time Joe picked out fabric. How’d it go?” Jenny said to the camera. Looney hilariously responded, “First and last. Thank you very much.”

Jenny noted that Looney would not be joining the crew for lunch, as he had to go home to take care of his donkeys. After enjoying “lunch with the crew” at 1:00 p.m., Dave and Jenny headed to their second work site of the day at 2:00 p.m., at which they hopped on a call with a different set of homeowners.

At 4:00 p.m., Dave and Jenny reunited with Looney for some “project planning” at what looked like a custom sign company. The workday ended with Looney showing off his musical skills by playing on a drum set for the show’s crew.

In a recent interview with TV Insider, Dave and Jenny gushed about getting to work with Looney again, as he stepped away from Fixer to Fabulous in recent seasons due to health issues. “We just told him, ‘Just come hang out. You don’t have to do any actual physical work.’ But he can’t help himself. And so, then he’s in pain, and then he has to take a break,” Jenny said. “But I just love having him back. It’s been so fun just to have Joe there ’cause he’s just, he’s Joe. He’s so sweet and fun and hilarious, and he has a dry sense of humor. Yeah, so it’s been good.”

Dave added, “We’ve really missed him. Like Jenny said, he works all the time. And so, he finally retired from his other job. And then, Jenny pestered him enough that he agreed to come back. But it makes every day brighter when he is there. It’s fantastic.”

Jenny revealed that Season 8 will see the couple transform an airplane hangar into a home for Dave’s brother and his wife, as well as feature a project that has been “two years in the making.” Dave revealed, “We’re doing a coffee shop, where it’s in a creek bed. So, we’re elevating the entire structure with the moving company, putting a whole new foundation and piers underneath it.”

Jenny shared, “We’re finally making some progress, so it’s very, very exciting. We’re not at all close to being finished with it yet, but we will get it done this year. It’ll be done this year.”
