What To Know

  • Jenny Marrs reflected on the emotional makeover she and Dave Marrs completed on Season 7 of Fixer to Fabulous.
  • The couple surprised the family with home renovations for last year’s 24-hour build marathon with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
  • The HGTV stars have asked fans to help support the Esmeyers after their family received difficult health updates.

As she and Dave Marrs keep raising money for former Fixer to Fabulous guests, Jenny Marrs reflected on their time on the show.

“I just wanted to remind everyone how amazing, fun, beautiful, and humble the Esmeyer family is,” Jenny captioned a Tuesday, October 27, Instagram post. “We had the privilege of meeting them last summer and their story has impacted our entire family. Teal has been in nightly prayers at our house ever since. She is just the brightest light and absolutely radiates joy. She loves Disney princesses, anything crafty and swimming in her pool!”

Jenny encouraged her fans to continue supporting the Esmeyers as both Teal and her mother, Dru, continue to face difficult health issues. “Let’s keep it going, friends. Let’s keep praying and sharing and giving,” she said. “I have to be honest, my goal at the beginning of this fundraiser was to bless them with enough unexpected cash to order in Teal’s favorite meals and a few of her favorite toys. But now, because you all have shown up in such a big way, my goal is to financially bless them in a way that buys them time with their girl not worrying about bills and work and all the things that continue to pour in even when your own world has stopped turning.”

She concluded, “Let’s keep it going! The fundraiser is in my profile – every dollar helps bless this family!!”

Jenny’s post featured footage from Season 7, Episode 7 of Fixer to Fabulous, which aired earlier this year. In the episode, Jenny and Dave Marrs gave the Esmeyers a backyard and kitchen makeover as part of their annual 24-hour home renovation marathon with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Earlier this month, Jenny asked fans via Instagram to pray for the Esmeyer family after they received a “devastating medical update.” In a Saturday, October 24 Instagram upload, Jenny shared that Dru was “now battling a serious health journey of her own.”

The post featured screenshots of a message from Bo Esmeyer, revealing that Teal’s brain tumors had progressed, and Dru needs surgery to remove tumors of her own. “We are scared. Teal’s condition is very serious. But we still have hope, there is still a plan, and most importantly, Teal is still here with us,” the father wrote. “We are going to keep loving her, fighting for her, and making memories with her and Judd one day at a time. Thank you for continuing to love our girl.”

To help their friends, Jenny and Dave launched a fundraising website to assist the family’s medical costs. For every $20 donated, fans will be entered to win prizes such as a visit to the Fixer to Fabulous set, a stay at Jenny and Dave’s The Welcome Inn, and more.

“I know we can’t help everyone going through a hard time but we can always help the one God puts in our path,” Jenny captioned a Monday, October 26, Instagram post. “God put Teal in our path and my momma bear heart is going to keep fighting for her in prayer and in any tangible way we can. Thank you for joining us in doing so!!!
