HGTV’s Jenny Marrs Shares Update on Her Son After He Undergoes Surgery

In addition to asking fans to support a former Fixer to Fabulous guest, Jenny Marrs asked her social media followers to send well wishes to her son.

Jenny and Dave Marrs share five children, including twins Ben and Nathan, daughters Sylvie and Charlotte, and son Luke. On Thursday, October 29, Jenny revealed via her Instagram Story that Ben would be undergoing surgery for a scary health injury.

“Will you say a prayer for Ben? He has surgery this morning for a torn meniscus,” the HGTV star wrote alongside a sweet snap of the two.

In a follow-up post, Jenny posted a pic from a hospital room, giving her followers an update on her son. “They just took Ben back for surgery. Donna (Dave’s mom) worked here at this hospital and on this floor for years,” she said. (Dave’s announced his mother’s death in September 2025.)

Jenny continued, “Ben’s surgeon is a friend and Donna was his nurse. He prayed over our boy and all of Donna’s nurse friends have stopped in to hug me and check on Ben. Goodness I miss her especially on days like today.”

Jenny later shared a screenshot of a text, informing her that Ben’s “complex tear” was successfully fixed in surgery. “Thank you for praying for Ben!” she wrote. “We are home and getting him settled. The surgery went better than expected and now we focus on healing!”

Earlier on Thursday, Jenny celebrated Ben and Nathan’s recent teenage milestone, as well as her own achievement, on her Instagram Story. “The boys started their first job and we finished a project that was two years in the making yesterday,” she captioned a family photo. “It was a good day.”

Ben’s surgery comes as Jenny and Dave are raising support for the Esmeyer family, who were featured on Season 7 of Fixer to Fabulous. The family was gifted a backyard and kitchen renovation as part of the Marrs’ St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 24-hour build marathon. Earlier this month, Jenny asked fans to send prayers after they received a “devastating medical update.”

She later shared screenshots of a message from Bo Esmeyer, revealing that Teal’s brain tumors had progressed, and that Dru would need to have surgery to remove tumors of her own.

Jenny and Dave lent a helping hand by launching a fundraising website for the Esmeyers. By donating, fans can enter to win a variety of prizes, including a stay at Jenny and Dave’s The Welcome Inn and a Fixer to Fabulous set visit.
