‘The Price Is Right’ Sets Season 55 Premiere Date & Announce ‘Wild Wheel Wednesdays’
The Price Is Right fans won’t have long to wait for new episodes. The CBS game show will premiere its 55th season this month. TPIR will also celebrate host Drew Carey‘s 20th season.
The Price Is Right was renewed for Season 55 in April, along with a slew of CBS daytime shows, making it the longest-running game show in TV history. In Season 54, TPIR saw the show’s highest winner with $240,000, Bobby Bones‘ sidekick, couples winning big prizes, and more.
The Season 55 themes include Veterans Day, Halloween, Earth Day, Breast Cancer Awareness, Pet Adoption Week, Pride, Cinco De Mayo, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Week.
Here is everything we know about Season 55.
When does The Price Is Right return with new episodes?
Season 55 will kick off on Monday, September 21, according to a press release.

Who will host Season 55?
Carey will return for his 20th season as host. Announcer George Gray is also returning.
What is new this season?
This season, Wednesdays are getting even more exciting with “Wild Wheel Wednesday.” During the Showcase Showdown, contestants will have the chance to win not only over $100,000, but also a special prize chosen by Carey, making every spin of the Big Wheel even more thrilling.
Where can you watch The Price Is Right?
TPIR airs on CBS during weekdays. Episodes also stream on Paramount+.
Who are The Price Is Right models?
The game show currently has six models who are all returning for the season — Rachel Reynolds, James O’Halloran, Devin Goda, Amber Lancaster, Manuela Arbeláez, and Alexis Gaube.
This year, the models are being cut down to one per episode, according to Lancaster.
Is there going to be a live episode?
Yes! The Price Is Right will have its first-ever live episode this December. The episode will be Christmas-themed. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
Showrunner John Quinn told us that they are already planning it, despite it being months away. “To me, it already feels like a live show in a lot of ways, and we are all really looking forward to the challenge,” he said.
“A big part of me wants there to be little mistakes along the way, because it’s live — I think that is what will draw people to the live show — what’s gonna go wrong? I think you want to see a little bit of chaos, so I’m excited to see what happens. If the show is not perfect, that’s good … I think…I hope. We’re already preparing, and we’re not shooting it for a few months.”
The Price Is Right, Season 55, weekdays, starting September 21, 11a/10c, CBS

John Quinn and the supposed cost cutting measures are going to kill the Golden Goose. With contestants that now are over the top every time, a smaller audience and the reduction to one model each show Quinn is fundamentally changing the show.
Having been to numerous tapings over the years the changes Quinn is making to the show make it almost unwatchable. Never thought I’d say this but it might be better to just end it. It’s not The New Price is Right anymore, cancel it at the conclusion of Season 55.

How about a special upcoming episode in prime time when the professional cheerleaders of the National Football League, get to play for some prizes such as cars, trips, cash, luxury cars, etc.? I also would love to see an all bloopers show in prime time, with all the funniest moments from the Drew Carey era. How about bringing back a special Let's Make A Deal, Price Is Right mash up week on the daytime version, as well as a special Models Rule episode?
