‘Today’s Sheinelle Jones Thanks Fans After Recent Career Achievement

Sheinelle Jones‘ debut book, Through Mom’s Eyes, is continuing to thrive one month after its release.
The Today host took to Instagram on Monday, May 13, to share another achievement she’s reached thanks to her book. “Hi, everybody. So, I just got a call from our book people. I’m sure there’s a fancier word for it, but the book people. And Through Mom’s Eyes is on The New York Times‘ Bestsellers List for the fourth week in a row! Yay!” she announced. “So, I just felt like I should, I don’t know, say thank you, log on and say thank you.”
Jones continued, “For all of you who purchased a book for Mother’s Day or for the Mother’s Day holiday, or whoever you’re telling — it’s one thing to write a book and ask people to support, and you guys support just because you’re beautiful humans. It’s another thing for people to read it and enjoy it and then tell their friends who may not know me [at all] and support.”
She concluded her post by stating, “So, it is just beyond, beyond, and I just wanted to say thank you. So, OK. That’s all. Have a good day! Yay!”
Fans congratulated Jones on her latest career accomplishment in the post’s comments. “Congratulations!!!! you deserve the best go girl,” one user wrote. Another added, “Yassssss…You Deserve It.”
Someone else shared, “Go girl!!!!!! We are so proud of you!” A different person posted, “I feel especially proud to have contributed in a small way ..I bought 6 copies and shared as Mother’s Day presents to my Mom, Aunts, cousins and my BFF. So incredibly proud of your success @sheinelle_o.” A separate commenter stated, “Fantastic! You’re touching the lives of millions of Moms and sparking healthy discussions.”

Through Mom’s Eyes, released on April 14, features conversations about motherhood between Jones and the mothers of stars such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga, Stephen Curry. The book was supposed to hit stores in April 2025, but was delayed multiple times in the wake of Jones’ husband Uche Ojeh‘s private battle with brain cancer and death at the age of 45 in May 2025.
On the March 23 episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, Jones opened up about how both Ojeh and her late grandmother, Josephine Vonceal Pace Brown, inspired her to release the book. “By the time [Uche] was in hospice, the book was supposed to be out,” she recalled. “And I had pushed, and after a while, it was like, ‘I can’t be out promoting. I’d rather be with you and the kids.’ And so, he really wanted me to do it.”
She added, “I wrote this when my life was, frankly, falling apart, and motherhood doesn’t stop. That’s what I’ve learned. If anything, the volume turns up when life gets hard. And there were times when I felt alone, and the pages of this book made me feel less alone.”
Jones and Ojeh’s three kids — Kayin, Clara, and Uche — surprised their mom live on the April 14 episode of Jenna & Sheinelle to celebrate the book’s release. Through Mom’s Eyes also features a sweet tribute to Ojeh.
“This book would not exist without my dear husband, Uche,” she wrote in the book, per Us Weekly. “He pushed me to do this on days when I wanted to give up because I didn’t think I had the time or bandwidth to see it to completion. … The truth is, I’ve had this book on my heart for a very long time, and I’m so thankful he believed in me and the stories I wanted to tell.”
Last month, Jones celebrated her book becoming a New York Times Best Seller. “This – is because of your support. Thank you so much. #1 New York Times Best Seller!!!!” she captioned an April 22 Instagram video of her excited reaction to the news. “It’s just beyond. My dream – has been to uplift & empower women. You’ve made my dream come true.”
