‘Survivor 50’s Joe Hunter to Make Acting Debut in Tyler Perry Firefighter Drama
Survivor 50 contestant Joe Hunter will make his acting debut in a new Tyler Perry firefighter drama on Netflix. Hunter is a fire captain in real life and can currently be seen on Survivor 50 on Wednesdays at 8/7c on CBS (the season premiered on February 25).
Netflix announced the start of production of Tyler Perry’s Where There’s Smoke on Tuesday, March 3, and included a photo of the cast on set as part of the announcement (see below). The cast includes actors from Euphoria, Chicago P.D., The Righteous Gemstones, All American, and more.

When does Tyler Perry’s Where There’s Smoke come out?
A premiere date will be announced at a later time, but production has officially begun as of March 3.
The series comes from a previously announced creative partnership with Netflix, where Perry will write, direct, and produce feature films and series under a multi-year first-look series deal.
Where There’s Smoke Season 1 will have 16 one-hour episodes and is written, directed, and produced by Perry. Angi Bones and Tony Strickland will also produce for Tyler Perry Studios.
