When Do the One Chicago Shows Return?

The wait until new One Chicago episodes is going to feel long — all three shows left off their 2025 runs with major characters in danger — but the good news is we know when NBC’s Wednesday lineup will be back.

Chicago Med ended the first batch of its Season 11 episodes with Lenox (Sarah Ramos) putting herself in harm’s way to help a patient, Chicago Fire had Severide (Taylor Kinney) unknowingly trapped by fire while investigating an arson case, and Chicago P.D. saw Imani (Arienne Mandi) break into the house of a suspected serial killer. Below, we break down the return dates for all three as well as where each left off.

When does One Chicago return in 2026?

Chicago MedChicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. all return on Wednesday, January 7, in their usual time slots of 8/7c, 9/8c, and 10/9c. The shows have only swapped time slots in the past for crossover events, when necessary for the story.

Where did Chicago Med Season 11 leave off in the fall finale?

Jack Falahee, Olivia Nikkanen, and Manish Dayal all returned for the fall finale. Falahee’s Devin checked into the ED with injuries that strongly suggested he had once again abused his wife (Nikkanen’s Faye) and suspiciously had her cell phone. Lenox took it upon herself to go to his house to check on Faye, found her badly beaten in the basement, and went upstairs to call for help — only for Devin to show up and knock her out.

Meanwhile, Charles (Oliver Platt) clashed with Dayal’s Theo when a patient in the latter’s trial came in with concerning symptoms. Charles worried that Theo didn’t want it to be his medication — and even may have dosed her for results pointing to something else — but that didn’t turn out to be the case. Charles then apologized and admitted to Theo that something was going on with him, and that’s one of the questions we need answered when the show returns.

Plus, there seemed to be something brewing between Archer (Steven Weber) — currently having a baby and planning to co-parent with Asher (Jessy Schram) — and Kingston (Merrin Dungey), if their conversation in the OR was any indication.

Where did Chicago Fire Season 14 leave off in the fall finale?

Severide played fire cop once again with Van Meter (Tim Hopper) after a fire was set at a school targeting the principal. As the episode ended, they were up in the principal’s apartment to discuss the investigation — a lot of people hated him, with 83 members of a Facebook group specifically about that — when someone set a fire in the stairwell below.

Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) is trying to move forward following his wife’s death last season, with the mayor’s chief of staff, Annette (Annabeth Gish), but they hit a roadblock in the episode as well. She took some advice he’d given about finding money elsewhere to prevent a teachers’ strike … and as a result, she asked the CFD for a list of rigs that can be permanently decommissioned. Engine 51, Mouch’s (Christian Stolte), was on the list.

Elsewhere, Vasquez (Brandon Larracuente) was shocked to learn his father was out on parole when he showed up at 51 to get his car.

Where did Chicago P.D. Season 13 leave off in the fall finale?

Voight (Jason Beghe) and Imani had their sights set on Raymond Bell (Barry Del Sherman), responsible for an estimated 12 victims, though they couldn’t prove it. (They did come close, with him giving just enough during the team’s interrogations to prove they were right.) Imani, especially, worried for his granddaughter, Julie (Julianna Layne), especially after she told her about a woman in the basement. Then, when Julie called her and didn’t respond, Imani took it upon herself to go investigate. As the fall finale ended, Imani found Julie’s cell in her room; the girl was missing, and the officer heard what sounded like a gunshot.

Also, Voight received photos of himself beaten as a child and then his father with messages “RESIGN OR THIS GOES PUBLIC” and “YOUR FATHER THE ABUSER” written on them. When he tracked down the messenger, he got the number of the person who had them delivered, and he traced it to Commander Devlin (Joel Murray) of IA, who’s very much holding a grudge.
