‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ Coming to Daytime in Fall 2022 From ‘Ellen’ Team
Jennifer Hudson is setting out to become the next Ellen DeGeneres. The Jennifer Hudson Show will debut on Fox TV stations in Fall 2022, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television and Fox Television Stations announced March 2.
The one-hour daytime talk show is being made by Telepictures, which produces The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as well as Warner Bros. While the singer’s show is not intended to be the official Ellen replacement, Warner Bros. and Fox Television Stations have chosen Hudson to be their new flagship daytime talk show host after Ellen concludes later this year.
Hudson’s fellow American Idol alum and The Voice judge Kelly Clarkson already has her own daytime hit. NBC intends for The Kelly Clarkson Show to take Ellen‘s time slot in Fall 2022 after DeGeneres airs her last episode. Whether Hudson will sing on the show like Clarkson is unknown.
Ellen executive producers Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly were the showrunners for Hudson’s test show last fall, according to Variety. And the test show was filmed on the Ellen stage. Hearst Television is also part of the talk show launch, along with additional station groups representing more than 60 percent of the country.
“I have experienced so much in my life,” Hudson said in a statement. “I’ve seen the highest of the highs, the lowest of the lows, and just about everything in between but as my mother always told me, ‘Once you think you’ve seen it all, just keep on living.'”

And I couldn’t be more thrilled to do it alongside this incredible team. We’re about to have a lot of fun and shake things up a little bit!”

“As the syndication business continues to go through a major sea change,” Cicha said, “we need power players to reenergize talk shows and Jennifer Hudson is just that.”

If daytime TV, especially the after school time spot, would bring back shows more along the line of the sitcoms we used to have TV may be able to rebuild its brand in a huge and refreshing way.
Let's take a return to the 1960's. Singers and singing shows should not make us feel they are the only choice available no matter the channel we land upon.

Jennifer Hudson is the best singer. She has been through enough pain. Hopefully her show won't fail. Sounds like people will be with her.

So she's at least the third person who came to prominence on American Idol to get her own talk show.

Jennifer Hudson is not a good choice for a talk show. She does not have the personality to maintain an audience's attention. She may be a good singer but definitely not talk show host.

I have a different opinion. I think Jennifer Hudson will be an amazing talk show/variety show host. Her personality shines through on the Voice. She is real and accessible with heart, depth and a fun side. I would definitely watch her show and am looking forward to its debut.
