Bill Maher Rips Into Donald Trump After Second White House Dinner
What To Know

- Despite their political differences, Maher joked about the dinner’s etiquette and discussed serious topics with Trump.
Bill Maher broke his silence on his second White House dinner with President Donald Trump — and he repeatedly took aim at the POTUS on Real Time With Bill Maher in the process.
On the Friday, October 23 episode of his late-night show, Maher, 70, began his opening monologue by pointing out a notable fact about the POTUS, 80, going into the midterm elections.
“Trump has the lowest approval rating of any midterm candidate ever,” he said. “Only 1 percent of the Republicans are mentioning him in their ads. It’s gotten really bad. I mean, the billboards outside of his rallies now just say ‘Lee Greenwood and Friends.'”
When Maher brought up Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s controversial ad targeting his opponent Amy Acton — and Trump’s response to it — the president was also the butt of the joke.
“Trump said this is fair game. A 12-year-old rape victim is fair game?” Maher said. “I know that looks bad. It sounds better on a birthday card to Jeffrey Epstein.”
Additionally, Maher addressed Trump’s increased frequency of commenting on men’s physiques during speeches.
“He did it just last week. He was campaigning for a guy who wants to be senator, Jon Husted, said he was looking at his ass,” he said. “Said his ass was a ‘big pile of muscle.’ And James Talarico is the gay one? I don’t know what’s going on.”
Maher continued, “It’s just a little odd that Trump keeps gushing about men’s bodies — and how handsome they are, and their jawlines, and their asses, their physiques. I’m a little hurt. I was there for dinner for four hours last week, and not a peep. Nothing.”
There is just something thrilling about being announced when you’re in the White House, when you’re outside the Oval Office, and you hear the aide say, “Sir, your 7 o’clock low-ratings dummy is here.” https://t.co/G6qUCsstNG

Of that White House dinner with Trump, Stephen A. Smith, and Kid Rock, Maher proclaimed, “Yeah, I did it again, b****es. I know. I’m the bad guy because I go and say face-to-face to the man the things you write in articles that he’ll never read. But OK. You know what? F*** you, I like these dinners.”
The stand-up comedian then quipped, “There is just something thrilling about being announced when you’re in the White House. That moment when you’re outside the Oval Office, and you hear the aide say, ‘Sir, your 7-o’clock low-ratings dummy is here.”
Maher also joked that the four-hour dinner lasted “slightly longer than the press secretary he hired last week lasted.”
Still, the White House dinner wasn’t all fun and games because Maher “had a lot to b***h about.”
“I mean, we talked about a lot of things. The Supreme Court, ICE shootings… abandoning the Afghans who helped us during the war, Hegseth is dragging you down, sir,” he explained. “When you say ‘Obama is not a centrist,’ your racism is showing. Please don’t name the ocean after yourself. What else… losing the 2020 election. I was at the Reflecting Pool that day — it looked like s***.”
The late-late host then snarked, “Or, as he put it the next day, ‘He’s coming around.'”
Political differences aside, Maher joked of the etiquette at the White House dinner, “I could not have been treated better if I was Russian.”
