Shaunette Renée Wilson was born in Guyana, but raised in New York City. A 2016 graduate of the prestigious Yale School of Drama, she immediately made an impression in a recurring role as Stephanie Reed, Chief of Staff to Bobby Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis, on the Showtime drama "Billions" (Showtime, 2016- ). She also appeared in the high profile Marvel superhero film, "Black Panther" (2018) opposite Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong'o and co-starred in the hospital drama "The Resident" (Fox 2018- ).
