John Dutton (Kevin Costner)

Not only is it hard to imagine Yellowstone without Costner and his character, but Malcolm wants to hurt John and they’re clearly going to be part of some big confrontation in the finale.

Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton in Yellowstone - Season 2, Episode 7 - 'Resurrection'
Paramount Network

Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley)

Jamie hasn’t really been part of the conflict with the Becks, but he’s a member of the family and now working on the ranch. That being said, while Malcolm couldn’t know about John and Beth’s conversation in Episode 7 regarding John’s feelings for his kids, the reality is Jamie is low on the list of people John loves the most.

Yellowstone Kayce
Paramount Network

Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes)

Kayce is as much part of the conflict with the Becks as John is and was the one to leave Malcolm that message after his attack on Beth. That being said, the trailer for the end of the season makes it look like Kayce is more likely to be hurt just as badly as — if not more than — John as a result of the Becks’ next move against the patriarch.

Yellowstone Beth
Paramount Network

Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly)

Malcolm has already sent men after her once, but that doesn’t mean he won’t go after her again, especially considering her role in the family business.

Yellowstone - Rip, Cole Hauser
Paramount Network

Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser)

Rip is still healing from his last encounter with Malcolm’s men to save Beth, but considering how much he does for the family and has done for them, we can unfortunately see him getting tangled up in the Dutton/Beck conflict. Recent developments (and steps back) in his and Beth’s relationship may also put him on the chopping block.

Yellowstone - Dan Jenkins (Danny Huston)
Paramount Network

Dan Jenkins (Danny Huston)

The trailer shows him going for his gun in his house, presumably due to someone breaking in. And when you compare what the Becks have done to him (taken his liquor license) to what they’ve done to the Duttons (killed their cattle and attacked Beth) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) (killed his employee and cut off his hand), Dan has gotten off easy so far.

Yellowstone - Tate
Paramount Network

Tate Dutton (Brecken Merrill)

While we can’t imagine Malcolm doing harm to a young kid, the fact of the matter is he’s the one John loves the most and Malcolm knows it.

Yellowstone Monica
Paramount Network

Monica Long (Kelsey Asbille)

As the trailer told us, “it’s always the innocent who pay most dearly.” Monica’s already rethinking living on the ranch, and it’s possible that her decision to give it one more chance like John requested could come back to bite her. She could also sacrifice herself to save her son if Malcolm does, in fact, go after Tate.

[Warning: The below and gallery above contain MAJOR spoilers for Season 2, Episode 8 of Yellowstone, “Behind Us Only Grey.”]

Malcolm Beck (Neal McDonough) is going after John Dutton (Kevin Costner), starting with the one he loves the most — and by the end of “Behind Us Only Grey,” it looked like he’d settled on who that is.

Earlier in the episode, the Beck brothers’ first conversation on the matter transitioned to Tate (Brecken Merrill), John’s grandson, on the ranch. Malcolm’s target was confirmed in the final scene. On his coffee table were photos of the Duttons, and he used his foot to slide the one of Tate over to his brother, Teal (Terry Serpico).

But would Malcolm really go after a child, even after what he sent his men to do to Beth (Kelly Reilly)? We probably shouldn’t put anything past him, but the trailer for the final three episodes did suggest another possible target.

Because anything can happen in the remaining two episodes of the season, we’re taking a look at who could be the Becks’ next victim, from least to most likely, in the gallery above.
