‘Will Trent’ Sneak Peek: Will & Angie Reunite After Near-Death Experience (VIDEO)

It was a very close call for the title character in Will Trent‘s last episode, with Will (Ramón Rodríguez) being rescued at the very last second after some venomous spider bites in the jungles of Puerto Rico. Thanks to a spiritual visit from his late mother, Will summoned the energy to get out one last scream so Faith Mitchell (Iantha Richardson) and Michael Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin), who’d followed his trail on the island, could hear him and save his life in the nick of time.

Rescuing Will was only half the battle, however. There’s still the matter of finding Uncle Antonio (John Ortiz), who was presumably abducted by Adelaide (Mallory Jansen), the daughter of James Ulster (Greg Germann) who has escaped into the unknown.

In this new sneak peek clip of the episode, exclusive to TV Insider, we get to see the immediate aftermath of Will’s near-death experience: a reunion with Angie Polaski (Erika Christensen).

In the video, we see him awaken to find Angie — who’s still very, very pregnant — at his bedside in the hospital. When he reveals that he feels “weird” and “dizzy,” she explains why: “They gave you anti-venom for the spider bites and a sedative because you were in a state. Yeah, you were trying to pull out your IV, go after Antonio.”

He then asks her for an update on Antonio’s disappearance, and she says, “What we know is Adelaide was spotted in Brazil. We don’t know if he’s with her. The FBI has like a whole team on it, and they’re doing their FBI thing.”

When Will then goes into another “state” and tries to get up to participate in the search for his uncle, she objects. “Will, you just woke up five seconds ago. Can you please take time to recover from almost dying before you beat yourself up again?”

“He’s my family, Ang,” Will says, with an air of heartbreak.

“I know, and they will tell me as soon as they learn anything. They’re going to find him,” she replies.

It’s then that he realizes Angie was asleep in the chair and probably has been all night. “Did you sleep here?” he asks.

“Of course. You’re my family,” she warmly responds, kicking every fan of these two right in the feels.

Rodríguez told TV Insider that the Adelaide chase would be a “catalyst” and a “springboard” for the rest of the season. He also promised that it would be an “ongoing” case, which means the storyline might continue even past Tuesday’s segment.

Tuesday’s episode, titled “I Hear It Now, I Was Good,” is described like so: “Will grows anxious over the whereabouts of his uncle, drawing emotional support from Angie. Meanwhile, the murder of a famed conductor, found with cryptic musical clues, pulls Ormewood, Faith, and Franklin [Kevin Daniels] into the world of the Atlanta Symphony.”
