‘The Forsytes’: Gregg Sulkin & Gabriel Antunes Join Season 3 as Family Heads to the French Riviera

The first season of the hit PBS Masterpiece series The Forsytes has just ended, leaving audiences devastated and eager for more. And while the cast is still catching its breath after filming Season 2 at a breakneck pace, Season 3 of the sweeping period drama is already moving full steam ahead into production.

As the season follows the family while they vacation in the French Riviera, they will be joined by a few new faces. Gregg Sulkin has joined the cast of The Forsytes for Season 3, which begins filming in Croatia. Also joining the ensemble is Gabriel Antunes.

When will The Forsytes Season 3 air?

The three-episode season has not started production yet, so it will probably not air until late 2027 or 2028.

The Forsytes Season 2 will premiere in 2027 on Masterpiece PBS in the U.S. and on 5 in the U.K.

What is The Forsytes Season 3 about?

According to PBS, the third season will take place on the French Riviera as the family goes on vacation: “When the wealthy Forsytes try to get some respite in the glamorous French Riviera, they quickly realize that they can’t escape their family drama. The casino, the beach, and a luxurious hotel are all settings for this third chapter in writer Debbie Horsfield‘s reimagining of John Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga novels.”

“It’s been an absolute treat to take the Forsytes on a roller-coaster ride of intrigue, glamour, romantic encounters, and shock revelations, all played out against the sun-drenched Mediterranean at the height of the Belle Époque,” said Writer and executive producer Debbie Horsfield. “We hope audiences will enjoy watching our characters bask in the pleasures of the Riviera whilst grappling with the curve balls which fate inevitably throws their way.”

Expected returning cast members are Francesca Annis as Ann, Jack Davenport as James, Danny Griffin as Jo, Stephen Moyer as Jolyon Sr., Millie Gibson as Irene, Joshua Orpin as Soames, Tuppence Middleton as Frances, and Justine Moore as June. The cast will also include Tom Durant Prichard, Naomi Frederick, Jamie Flatters, Owen Igiehon, Eleanor Jackson, Eleanor Tomlinson, as well as three-time Emmy Award-winning Susan Hampshire, who starred in the 1960s BBC version of The Forsyte Saga.

Richard Rankin, Sarah Alexander, and Nia Ashi will join the ensemble for The Forsytes Season 2.

The Forsytes, Season 3 has been written by Debbie Horsfield. The director is Joss Agnew. Benjamin Greenacre will serve as producer, alongside Imogen Wenner as Associate Producer. The executive producers are Debbie Horsfield and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios, and Susanne Simpson for Masterpiece. The Forsytes is produced in association with ITV Studios, which handles international distribution, with PBS Distribution handling North American rights.
