Cake Boss

Premiere: April 19, 2009



Buddy Valastro and his family stole our hearts and made us crave sugar daily on their hit TLC reality show. We watched Carlo’s Bake Shop expand from it’s little Hoboken storefront into an empire. The extravagant cake sculptures set the tone for many other baking shows, too.

Glee

Premiere: May 19, 2009



Glee took the nation by storm when McKinley High School’s glee club—named New Directions—covered Journey’s hit “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Ever since, it’s hard to name a song that Glee hasn’t covered. The show blossomed the careers of Darren Criss and Lea Michele, just to name a few. After a six season run, the show ended in 2015, but fans can still get their fix on Netflix.

Shark Tank

Thanks to Shark Tank, many products have seen the light of day and have become instantly popular. Case in point, the Scrub Daddy, Squatty Potty, and Kodiak Cakes. Original sharks, Kevin O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, and Robert Herjavec, are still on the show and have been accompanied by the new additions of Lori Greiner and Mark Cuban.

Let’s throw it back to 10 years ago when vampires were all the rage. Unlike most of the vampire storylines, The Vampire Diaries outlasted all the hype thanks to the chemistry between Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley. It was a top show on the CW until its finale back in 2017. Now, fans can binge the series anytime they want.

We will never forget when we were introduced to Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) and friends at Greendale Community College. The ensemble cast featured Donald Glover, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash, Chevy Chase, and Ken Jeong. Rumors have been swirling about a potential film reboot, but there have been no confirmations.

Florrick was married to Cook County State’s Attorney, Peter (Chris Noth), and fell victim to the “good wife” cliché of standing behind her husband as he admitted to a public sex scandal.

Viewers were introduced to the crazy, yet lovable Dunphy-Pritchett gang and instantly felt a part of the family. However, all good things must come to an end, and the show will end after its 11th season.

ABC introduced us to another family in 2009— the Hecks! Everybody Loves Raymond’s Patricia Heaton played Frankie, who was a middle-aged, middle-class, Midwesterner. She was married to Mike (Neil Flynn) and mother to Axl (Charlie McDermott), Sue (Eden Sher), and Brick (Atticus Shaffer). After nine seasons, the Hecks said goodbye to their viewers, but old episodes are still running in syndication.
