The 11 Best Kensi & Deeks Episodes of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’

NCIS Special Agent Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and LAPD Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) met while undercover, in an investigation that saw him clashing with the team (in the boathouse and in the boxing ring), and the rest, as they say, is history. The two went from partners with trust issues to denying there was even a “thing” between them to getting together a year after first spending the night together to finally married in Season 10. And in Season 11, they began planning to expand their family.
So while we wait to see what’s next for Densi, we invite you to look back at their relationship with the episodes below.

"Hand-to-Hand" (Season 1, Episode 19)
See how it all began, as the two meet while undercover for their respective agencies. And take note of what they’re wearing when they do: it comes up in a later episode.
"Deliverance" (Season 2, Episode 10)
Just as trust issues arise, Kensi must trust Deeks to help her navigate lasers and avoid getting blown up. Talk about putting your life in your partner’s hands!
"Neighborhood Watch" (Season 3, Episode 22)
Oh, the obligatory undercover-as-a-couple episode, a must for any will they/won’t they couple in a procedural drama. Posing as a married couple for a case, the two not only kiss but also reveal just how much they remember about their first meeting.
"Descent" (Season 4, Episode 24)
The partners’ first (non-undercover) kiss comes at a highly inconvenient time. After bickering about Deeks never saying what he means, he just goes for it, while they’re also dealing with keeping eyes on teammate Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and his wife, Michelle Hanna (Aunjanue Ellis), undercover with an arms dealer.
"Impact" (Season 5, Episode 2)
When Deeks takes time off after being tortured during a case and dodges her calls, Kensi spends the episode worried about him, even ordering him a cronut from New York. She finally forces her way into his home with takeout, leading to him muttering that famous “it’s a love story” to describe their relationship as he falls asleep.
"The Frozen Lake" (Season 5, Episode 10)
What happens at work the morning after partners sleep together for the first time and don’t talk about what it means? Awkwardness, all around, plus a few key scenes. And just as they’re ready to talk about it, fate intervenes, sending Kensi to Afghanistan for a months-long assignment.
"Humbug" (Season 6, Episode 11)
After dancing around each other for about a year following their night together, Kensi finally decides to be “bold” and go “all in” just in time for Christmas. Plus, even before that, the two plan to spend their days off together.
"The Seventh Child" (Season 7, Episode 19)
Shortly after moving in together, Kensi and Deeks have the all-important talk about having kids and their jobs. And while it’s unsettled at the time — and would be for years, even after they’re married — this episode features the first non-proposal near the end of it.
"The Silo" (Season 9, Episode 7)
In order to stop a missile launch, Kensi must risk her life, even calling Deeks with what very much sounds like a final goodbye (“I’ll love you ’til the end of time and back”). It’s not, but it does cause them to once again discuss the dangers of their jobs and their futures in this line of work.
"To Live and Die in Mexico" (Season 10, Episode 1)
After Deeks suffers a head injury when things go sideways on the team’s mission in Mexico (while saving their then-boss’ kid), Kensi single-handedly drags him through the desert and gets him to a hospital. From their hallucinations to the scenes in an abandoned church as he finally woke up to making up in the hospital at the end — they’d fought about kids and their careers — it’s a must-watch for any Densi fan.
"Till Death Do Us Part" (Season 10, Episode 17)
It’s their wedding episode! Need we say more? (Plus, we finally learned what was in the box she gave him in Season 4 that contained something he had always wanted.)
