‘Bridgerton’: Penelope Confronts Colin & More Season 3 First Looks Unveiled by Netflix
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Netflix‘s special Shondaland-hosted Bridgerton livestream unveiled several sweet Season 3 morsels ranging from a premiere scene between Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) to a list of episode titles and fresh photos unveiling new characters.
The panel helped celebrate the forthcoming season which debuts in two parts on May 16 and June 13 this year. Participants for the panel included executive producer Shonda Rhimes, showrunner Jess Brownell, book author Julia Quinn, and cast members including Coughlan, Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, and Martins Imhangbe.
During the discussion, there was confirmation of book-to-episode adaptations, exclusive photos, sneak peeks, and even a surprise fan wedding announcement. While Rhimes and Brownell offered tidbits on what fans can anticipate for Season 3, Quinn revealed what pieces from her source material will make it to the screen, including one particular fan-favorite moment from the novel Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, where Penelope wraps up Colin’s hand after he accidentally cuts it. Meanwhile, episode titles offer some clues for readers and certainly pose intrigue for show fans as all eight installments for the season were unveiled. Among the lineup are “Out of the Shadows,” “How Bright the Moon,” “Forces of Nature,” “Old Friends,” “Tick Tock,” “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” “Joining of Hands,” and “Into the Light.”
As previously teased, Season 3’s storyline will see Penelope seek advice from Colin to find a suitor despite her less warm feelings toward him after his careless words about courting her in the Season 2 finale. But as Rhimes, Brownell, and Quinn teased alongside the cast, Penelope’s season does include a strong new suitor in Sam Phillips‘ Lord Debling who appears in the photos, below. Others featured in the images, below include Bessie Carter, Harriet Cains, Emma Naomi, Ruth Gemmell, and Hannah Dodd in addition to the stars, mentioned, above.
Meanwhile, a new clip from the premiere sees Penelope confronting Colin about his unkind remarks about never considering courting her from the Season 2 finale. As he tries to get in her good graces, she leaves him speechless in the shocking first look, above.
And that’s not all that was in store for the panel as Andoh and Rosheuvel revealed Netflix is celebrating love by hosting a Bridgerton-themed wedding for select fans.
