‘Bridgerton’ Spinoff: ‘Queen Charlotte’ Star Teases Possible Return for Violet’s Story

Bridgerton‘s expanding its universe over at Netflix as the Shondaland team brings Violet’s love story to life in an all-new untitled prequel.

While the show’s announcement teased Shonda Rhimes‘s role as a writer, following in the tradition of past limited series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, no official casting information or exact plot details were given. All viewers know is that the show will chronicle the prequel romance of Violet and her late husband, Edmund.

But considering Queen Charlotte explored the early years of the monarch’s love story with King George III, the franchise has plenty of young performers to pull back into the Violet spinoff if they want, and one star seemed to tease as much. Arsema Thomas, who portrayed Lady Danbury in the first prequel, reposted the news of the Violet spinoff, tipping her feathered fascinator towards the possibility of a return.

In response to Thomas’s posting, the platform Black Film Alerts messaged the actor asking if that was confirmation of her return to the franchise, and she wrote, “Yup!”

While this isn’t an official confirmation by any means, it’s a promising tease at the possibility of seeing stars from Queen Charlotte repopulate the TV universe for the Violet spinoff. As fans will recall, Connie Jenkins-Greig portrayed the younger version of Violet, raising the question if she might return to reprise her role, similar to how Thomas is teasing.

If that does end up being the case, it could open the door for the returns of stars like India Amarteifio, Corey Mylchreest, and beyond. One thing is for certain: someone will have to be cast as young Edmund, as he never popped up in Queen Charlotte. Who will step into that role? We’re sure the Ton is eager to find out.

Stay tuned for any updates, and let us know what you thought of Thomas’s tease in the comments section below.
