What Is Hannah Brown Doing Now? An Update on the Bachelorette Going Into 2020

It’s been a whirlwind year for Hannah Brown — the awkward yet lovable pageant queen who competed for Colton Underwood‘s heart in Season 23 of The Bachelor in early 2019. In a matter of 12 months, the Alabama beauty queen became The Bachelorette, got engaged, broke off her engagement, appeared on Bachelor in Paradise, took home the Mirror Ball trophy on Dancing With the Stars, and won a People’s Choice Award.  Now that’s impressive.

“I feel like this whole year has really given me opportunities to really have to think hard about my decisions and who I am and what I want,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

But after such a productive year, it leaves fans wondering: what’s next for Hannah? From the looks of it, 2020 is going to be an even bigger year for the 25-year-old.

Is Hannah Brown dating anyone?

Since being betrayed by ex-fiancé Jed Wyatt, Hannah has steered clear of relationships. Though she’s been linked to her Dancing With the Stars pro partner Alan Bersten, the Alabama native is currently single. “I’m not [dating Bersten]. We’re great friends,” she revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in October, adding that she’s suffered from “trauma” when it comes to dating.

But she’s not letting the past trauma define her future relationships. “Those hard times and those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that I’ve had have really grown me not as a woman and a person in a relationship to be able to give later on,” she told ET. “Right now, that’s not the case and I’m great being a woman on my own. But I really think I’ve grown a lot for whenever that day comes for me.”

Does Hannah join Peter’s season of The Bachelor?

Yes, we’ll be seeing more of Hannah on our TV screens in 2020 — but it’s not what you think. The reality star made waves when it was revealed in the trailer for the upcoming Bachelor season that she returns to speak with her ex and new lead, Peter Weber.

“I’m making decisions for my heart, because I know there’s still something there, and I would do anything for a relationship,” she tells him in the clip. Peter responds by asking if she would consider staying on the show.

But according to host Chris Harrison, Hannah isn’t necessarily asking Peter for a second chance. It seems like the couple reunites to get the closure they needed from their breakup last season so Peter could continue on his journey with the new contestants. “I think they did love each other very much on their season. I think it was a very tough decision for Hannah to make not to end up with Peter, and one that she’s probably thought a lot about and I think it was something that needed to be done. It was a conversation that needed to be had,” he said.

As for if Hannah actually stays on the show and competes for Peter’s heart? That’s extremely unlikely. Filming for The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars took place simultaneously, and even Hannah herself pointed that out when speaking to ET.

“I feel like if we put two and two together, like, I worked my a** off to win that Mirror Ball. I was in the studio eight hours a day,” she said. “You should do the math and watch in January.”

What’s next for Hannah in 2020?

She’s putting her dancing shoes back on! Fresh off the heels of her DWTS win, Hannah will be joining a slew of other stars from Season 28 — including runner-up Kel Mitchell, and finalists Ally Brooke and Lauren Alaina — on the Dancing With the Stars tour. The tour runs from January 9 through April 7, but Hannah won’t be making her debut until January 28 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. While many of the other stars from the season will be appearing in multiple shows, fans have expressed disappointment that Hannah will only be a part of one show.

“We need more Hannah stops! She needs to do the whole tour!” one fan wrote on Instagram while another added, “Add Hannah Brown to more dates, and then I can buy tickets!!”

Another project she hopes to check off her list in 2020? Her own book! The beauty queen revealed to ET that she’s been thinking about penning an autobiography which will include “things nobody knows about me and I haven’t shared with the world.”

“I’ve had a lot of my bucket list things come to me this year… Like, what is my life?” she asked. “I feel like there’s more of that in store. I have a feeling and I’m going to keep doing what I do to work and gain more experience and knowledge.”

“2020 is going to be my year,” she added. “We’re putting that out there.”
