Bob Saget, Luis Guzmán Among ‘Shameless’ Season 9 Guest Stars
The Gallaghers are about to welcome some new blood to the South Side for Shameless‘ ninth season.
Showtime’s dramedy featuring the dysfunctional family is expanding its cast for some upcoming episodes with new recruits like Code Black‘s Luis Guzmán and Fuller House‘s Bob Saget. Lifetime’s The Twin star Jess Gabor will also join Season 9, according to Deadline.
The news comes just days after the season premiere on Sunday, September 9. Guzmán and Gabor will recur in the show while Saget will have a one-episode arc.
Gabor will take on the role of Kelly Keefe, the daughter of a West Point alumnus and Army Officer who will play into Carl Gallagher’s (Ethan Cutkosky) storyline. It was introduced during the season premiere that Carl would further his military education, even considering West Point, so the role is certainly fitting.
Meanwhile, Guzmán will play Mikey O’Shea, a fellow barfly that will be Frank’s (William H. Macy) match as he contends for a spot in a liquor ad campaign. O’Shea is trying to be the face of Hobo Loco, a drink targeting the fraternity and alcoholic demographics.
Saget’s character Father D’Amico is sure to make an impression when he meets Kev (Steve Howey) and V (Shanola Hampton). The couple will be called in to meet with Saget’s character when their twin daughters get into trouble during show-and-tell at their Catholic preschool. In the season premiere, it was clear these Gallagher neighbors are going through a rough time with their rambunctious kids.
