It looks like one of TV’s funniest moms is heading to NBC’s biggest drama this fall, as it’s been revealed Malcolm in the Middle star Jane Kaczmarek will guest star on This Is Us.

The actress best known for her role as Lois, mother to Malcolm, Reese, Dewey, Francis, and Jamie as well as wife to Bryan Cranston‘s Hal, will appear in Season 3 of the acclaimed NBC hit, according to Entertainment Weekly which broke the news exclusively. While details remain limited surrounding Kaczmarek’s role, EW did reveal some info on her part.

Kaczmarek will play a yet-to-be named professor and scientist at a liberal university. Without much else to go on, it’s hard to determine what time frame in which she’ll fit, but perhaps one of “The Big 3” will come into contact with her during their college years?

We do know that Randall (Sterling K. Brown) is rather scientifically inclined, but that’s just a guess. Kaczmarek joins previously announced Season 3 guest star Rob Morgan, who is known for his roles in Stranger ThingsLuke Cage, and Mudbound.

Others who will join Kaczmarek as guests are Gerald McRaney, Denis O’Hare, Ron Howard, Brad Garrett, and Elizabeth Perkins. Of course, the last big casting announcement was I’m Dying Up Here‘s Michael Angarano as Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) brother Nicky.

Until the season premiere in September, fans will just have to speculate as to what role Kaczmarek will play in relation to the Pearsons. Regardless, it’s sure to please fans of Kaczmarek and This Is Us alike.
