What To Know

  • Kilby makes a critical comment about Brady to Patt in this Survivor 51 Episode 3 sneak peek.
  • Kilby’s comment quickly spreads through the Toka tribe, causing tension.
  • Survivor 51 airs Wednesdays on CBS.

Danny “Kilby” Kilby gets himself into some hot water in Survivor 51 Episode 3 when he makes a comment about Brady Booker that gets passed along very quickly. The question is: Has Kilby trusted the wrong person with an honest opinion, or is he testing the waters to see where loyalties lie? The drama begins with Kilby and Patt Cannaday over on the Toka tribe in this exclusive sneak peek at Episode 3 above. It airs on Wednesday, October 7, at 8/7c on CBS.

“I feel good with Brady,” Kilby tells Patt in the clip, who responds, “I 100% trust him.” It’s true: In Survivor 51 Episode 2, Patt formed a strong alliance with Brady, Angelica “Jelly” Loblack, Devin Way, and Mike Pinsky.

“[Brady] reminds of playing a video game with your little brother, but the controller’s unplugged,” Kilby tells Patt, who’s not impressed in the look ahead. “That’s brutal,” she says.

Kilby tells the cameras in a solo interview, “If you tell someone, ‘I straight up don’t like this person,’ that’s risky in Survivor.”

Does that mean this video game analogy is Kilby’s way of delicately revealing his dislike of Brady, or does Patt’s reaction make Kilby realize that he said the wrong thing and now he’s worried? The rest of the scene keeps that ambiguous, so we’ll have to wait and see what the rest of the episode reveals.

Patt takes the quote directly to Brady, Devin, and Jelly, who are sitting on the beach. She doesn’t quote Kilby with complete accuracy, but she does get the full meaning across. She tells the group that Kilby has said playing with Brady is “like playing Nintendo with your 5-year-old nephew but his controller isn’t plugged in.”

“Am I just an idiot in this game? ‘Cause I’m just so confused,” Brady says, immediately bothered.

“I think Kilby meant that I’m a pawn in his game. He wants me to work for him,” Brady says in a confessional interview. “I don’t work for nobody, brodie. I dictate plans. We remember how the first vote went.” (Brady helped organize the votes against first boot Aaliyah Puglia in Survivor 51 Episode 1.)

“What is happening around camp?” Jelly asks, surprised by Kilby’s shady comment. Devin thinks the shadiness might be part of Kilby’s strategy. The game designer from Ontario, Canada is a Survivor superfan who knows the game inside and out. He might be trying to stir the pot on purpose, or he just made a mistake that resulted in tension that could hurt his game.

“What I’m seeing, a pattern in Kilby, is he’s building distrust with people, and it’s dangerous when you have a tribe that should be unified,” Devin tells the cameras. “Now, I don’t think he’s going around having big conversations, scheming, but he is a farmer who is just sowing seeds of chaos.”

Find out how the Kilby-Brady rivalry transpires in Survivor 51 Episode 3. Here’s the official description for the episode: “In the wake of a rocky tribal council, a castaway makes a shocking move. A mysterious Tree Mail delivers a game-changing twist. Then, two castaways secretly bond at tribal council in an attempt to change the course of the vote.”
