John Legend is prepping for his role as Jesus Christ in the upcoming live-action, one-night-only televised event Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert, along with his fellow cast members. They include Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, Alice Cooper as King Herod, and Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas.
NBC has released the first promo video for the new adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s classic rock opera that features the cast in-character singing and moving onstage.
The show will take place on Easter Sunday (April 1) at Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in front of an audience of over 1,500 people, and with a full band onstage.
