Live from new York, it’s…Nature Cat?

PBS Kids has wooed a quartet of Saturday Night Live zanies—Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan, Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson—to head the voice cast of its new animated series about an indoor cat named Fred (Killam), who experiences nature for the first time.

Created by brothers David and Adam Rudman (Sesame Street), Nature Cat debuts November 25 and will encourage today’s video game–obsessed little ones to get outside and play. But although the purpose of the show is serious, the style isn’t. Says PBS exec Lesli Rotenberg: “This is Looney Tunes for preschoolers.”
