‘Another Period’ Is ‘Downton Abbey’ Meets the ‘Kardashians’

If Downton Abbey and Keeping Up With the Kardashians had an illicit love child, it’d be Another Period, Comedy Central’s new mockumentary about an absurdly wealthy family living large in early 1900s Newport, Rhode Island.
Stand-up comic Natasha Leggero and Garfunkel and Oates‘ Riki Lindhome co-created the series and play Lillian and Beatrice Bellacourt, a pair of turn-of-the-century sisters who have everything but the notoriety they so desperately crave.
“Except, unlike the Kardashians, they consistently fail at getting that fame,” says co-creator and executive producer Jeremy Konner, who hopes viewers will connect with the Bellacourts—and maybe even find them relatable—in spite of their shamelessness and decadent lifestyle. “They are very shallow, but Beatrice is also driven by love, and that’s very sweet and very romantic…of course, that love is for her twin brother.”
Another Period, Series premiere, 10:30/9:30c, Comedy Central
