American Idol (Wednesday, May 13, 8/7c, Fox)

Take us out, American Idol. The Fox reality singing competition ends its fourteenth and penultimate season tonight as the two finalists face off against each other for the grand prize. While the once-dominant series has continued to slip in the ratings, the show has produced many memorable singers, and this year’s top three (Nick Fradiani, Clark Beckham and Jax) might be the best final trio the show has ever had.

Tonight’s finale, broadcast live from Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, will also feature an all-star lineup of guest performers. Former judge and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will be on hand to rock the house, along with Chris Brown, Pitbull, The Jacksons, Fall Out Boy, New Kids on the Block and many more. Idol judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. will also perform together. As American Idol gears up for its fifteenth and now final season next year, tonight’s extravaganza is a chance to celebrate this show’s historic run and undeniable impact on the pop cultural landscape
