The Flash, “Rogue Air” (Tuesday, May 12, 8/7c, The CW)

The epic battle against Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) heats up—or should we say, freezes up—in the first season’s penultimate episode, when Barry/aka/Flash (Grant Gustin) becomes desperate enough to turn to former nemesis Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) for assistance. Good thing he’s available, because Cold/aka/Leonard Snart has just been tapped to join The CW’s ever-expanding stable of DC Comics’ properties as part of next season’s Legends of Tomorrow ensemble, alongside his sidekick Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh), among others.

Given that Cold’s re-emergence has more to do with the meta-humans being housed in S.T.A.R. Labs’ containment cells, it’s a good thing that Barry can also count on his hero/mentor Arrow (Stephen Amell) to pay another visit, even though he’s already dealing with a quiver full of conflicts back on his own home turf. No rest for heroes when season finales are upon us.
