What’s Worth Watching: 12 Angry Men Inside Amy Schumer
Inside Amy Schumer, “12 Angry Men Inside Amy Schumer” (Tuesday, May 5, 10:30/9:30c, Comedy Central)
It’s never not strange to flip the channel to Comedy Central at 10:29 or so and be confronted by the end of Tosh.0, a bastion of bro-ness that just happens to air right before one of the most ingenious, vicious woman-centric sketch comedy shows out there. Inside Amy continues its hot streak—catch up here if you haven’t seen the previous two episodes—with a half-hour-long 12 Angry Men parody that nails the hypocrisy of schlubby (and sometimes good-looking) men who feel the need to judge women’s appearances. Schumer has gathered Dennis Quaid as the judge and acting luminaries like Paul Giamatti and Vincent Kartheiser as members of the jury who will decide if she is indeed hot enough for TV. John Hawkes plays the part of the first juror to wonder—does she give them a reasonable chub?
