Rose McIver on Season 3 of ‘iZombie’: ‘It Has the Most Fun Thing We’ve Ever Shot’
At the end of iZombie’s second season, the characters’ world had been upended: Detective Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) finally discovered that coroner’s assistant Liv (Rose McIver, above, with Rahul Kohli) was full-on walking dead. And with military outfit Fillmore Graves (get it?)—led by CEO Vivian (Andrea Savage)—looking to make Seattle a home base for the undead, Team Zombie is now going to find itself conflicted. “Not all of our characters are going to end up on the same side,” executive producer Rob Thomas teases.
The new season kicks off dramatically, but lighter diversions occur, including Liv’s ex Major (Robert Buckley) inhabiting the body of a teenage girl. “Robert is so born for it,” jokes Diane Ruggiero-Wright, the episode’s writer. Also look out for a Dungeons & Dragons–themed installment. Says McIver: “We filmed an eight-minute scene that was the most fun thing we’ve ever shot.”
