Jenny Marrs Gets Sentimental While Celebrating Major HGTV Anniversary With Dave Marrs

Jenny and Dave Marrs are celebrating a major career milestone as they work on Season 8 of Fixer to Fabulous.

Jenny took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 21, to celebrate her and Dave’s 10th HGTV anniversary. “TEN years ago!” she wrote. “It’s absolutely wild to think that a decade ago, we welcomed a camera crew into our home and into our lives for two days. They essentially followed us around as we worked and then interviewed us as we sat on our front porch swing telling them about our family and the work we do renovating historic homes in our town of Bentonville, Arkansas.”

She continued, “I remember watching the three-minute edited down ‘sizzle reel’ that would be sent to HGTV and thinking, ‘This is absolutely crazy. Why would anyone want to watch a television show about our life?’ I also remember being extremely nervous that someone would want to watch a television show about our life. At the time, Charlotte was two, Sylvie was four and Ben and Nate were six. They were babies. Was it wise to open our family up to the inevitable criticism and loss of privacy that must come with a television show?”

Jenny recalled leaning on her faith to help her make the right career move. “I prayed simply, ‘Lord, if this is what you want for us to do, if this will bring you glory, if we can use this opportunity to shine a light into this dark world, then let it happen. If this isn’t in your plans for us, if this is against your will, then slam the door shut,'” she shared. “He clearly, vividly said to me, in no uncertain terms: I will be with you. I love you. Shine my light.”

Now a decade into their HGTV journey, Jenny said she “still can’t wrap [her] head around” the fact that people watch her and Dave’s renovation projects from the comfort of their homes. “It’s a strange job – certainly one I never anticipated – but it is also a very normal, very unglamorous one, as well,” she wrote. “Our kids have quite literally grown up in front of a camera and we have this decade of our lives documented forever – like a really cool home movie.”

Jenny concluded the post by saying she was planning the Fixer to Fabulous Season 8 wrap party and that they hope to announce a premiere date for the new season soon.

Jenny shared her message alongside footage from her and Dave’s HGTV sizzle reel, in which they showed off their farmhouse and the homes they renovated in their Arkansas town. “No matter what the project is, just rebuilding Bentonville and making Bentonville more of what it already is in our hearts, it’s just a passion for us,” Dave stated in the clip. Jenny added, “It’s hopefully something we’ll be doing for many years to come.”

Fixer to Fabulous debuted on HGTV in 2019. Jenny and Dave have appeared on many of the network’s shows over the years, including Rock the Block and Home Town Takeover, and went on to launch spinoffs such as Fixer to Fabulous: Welcome Inn and Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano.

Fans congratulated the couple on their HGTV anniversary in the comments of Jenny’s post. “So Thankful you sent that in to @hgtv absolutely my favorite renovation show on there I can’t wait to see the beautiful work ya’ll have done this season and yes Bentonville is so nice I love it there been to y’alls farm AMAZING,” one user gushed. “Love the feel of the square reminds me of the good ole days.”

Another fan said, “It was meant to be and I still love the look of that interview! Front porch living!” Someone else shared, “I have loved every minute!!! May God continue to bless your family and crew!” A different person posted, “I have been one of y’all’s biggest fans since day one! Keep it up and congratulations!”
