Vanna White Throws Pie in Pat Sajak’s Face in Nostalgic 80th Birthday Tribute
Forget the birthday cake, Pat Sajak got a pie in the face for his birthday. Wheel of Fortune posted a montage for the former host’s 80th birthday that was filled with funny memories.
“Happy 80th birthday to the icon that is Pat Sajak!” the Instagram post on October 26 was captioned.
The video featured video clips of a young Sajak on set. He had a milk mustache, was carried out by someone, danced with contestants, and was even kissed on the temple by one male contestant. “I didn’t mind that, actually,” he said.
A very young Vanna White stood on set with Sajak and said, “Oh, what the heck?” She turned and shoved the pie in Sajak’s face, which caused the audience to scream and cheer. The white filling ran down his face as he stood there, not saying anything. White added a red nose to the look, but it fell off quite quickly.

White and Sajak also showed off their red tongues, after apparently eating a food that dyed them that color. He pretended to faint when White said “relax” in a clip that put them in tropical clothing. “Was that too relaxed?” he asked.
The former host showed off his skills as he stood at the puzzle board and put his hands out to the letters. “Very nice, Pat,” White said.
The two hosts also saw a Sajak doppelganger in the audience. White also took off Sajak’s wig, which left his hair bald (it was a bald cap). She shrieked in shock.
Sajak was then seen wakeboarding and being spun around by a contestant in the Bonus Round. He also pretended to faint when a female contestant kissed him on the cheek.
He sat in a hot tub and then laughed with a mother-daughter duo because the mother was “patting his rear end.” The iconic Scooby-Doo impression was also featured.
In other clips where he snapped, Sajak couldn’t stop laughing and wiping away tears. He also ripped open his button-down shirt in another clip.
“So good,” his daughter, Maggie, who penned a touching tribute to him, commented. Many other fans wished him a happy birthday.
“The pie is my favorite. What a wonderful trip down memory lane. Happy birthday Mr. Pat Sajak,” one said.
