‘The Testaments’ Season 2 Cast Adds Deborah Ann Woll & Luke Kirby

True Blood and Daredevil: Born Again‘s Deborah Ann Woll and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Emmy-winner Luke Kirby have joined The Testaments Season 2 cast. The second season of The Handmaid’s Tale spinoff is filming now in Canada.

Woll plays Sylvia, “whose work as a seamstress keeps her in close proximity to the Wives and daughters of Gilead’s Commanders,” Deadline reports.

Kirby plays the “literal-minded Commander Fletcher, who lives as a recluse on a farm in one of Gilead’s Colonies, where his eccentricities have made it difficult to find a wife.”

They join previously reported new cast member Haley Wong, per Deadline, playing the role of a pregnant Gilead wife named Prudence, a series regular. And Charlie Carrick, who plays Commander Judd, has reportedly been upped to series regular.

An evolution of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name and is a dramatic coming-of-age story set in Gilead. The series follows young teens Agnes Mackenzie (Chase Infiniti), dutiful and pious, and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), a new arrival and convert from beyond Gilead’s borders. As they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s (Ann Dowd) elite preparatory school for future wives, a place where obedience is instilled brutally and always with divine justification, their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future.

Infiniti scored an Emmy nomination for her performance in Season 1. Dowd previously won an Emmy for her portrayal of Aunt Lydia in The Handmaid’s Tale. The Testaments cast also includes Mabel Li as Aunt Vidala, Amy Seimetz as Paula MacKenzie, Brad Alexander as Garth, Rowan Blanchard as Shunammite, Mattea Conforti as Becka, Zarrin Darnell-Martin as Aunt Gabbana, Eva Foote as Aunt Estée, Isolde Ardies as Hulda, and Kira Guloien as Rosa. Elisabeth Moss also reprises her Emmy-winning Handmaid’s Tale role as June Osborne.

Filming for Season 2 started in August in Canada. A premiere date will be announced at a later time, but Season 1 premiered in April 2026.
