‘Elsbeth’ First Look: Nicholas Braun Episode Adds ‘The Wire’s John Doman, Isaac Powell & More

Nicholas Braun will guest star in Elsbeth Season 4 Episode 2 alongside The Wire‘s John Doman, Isaac Powell, Tommy Dorfman, The Waltons‘ Richard Thomas, and Betsy Aidem, TV Insider has learned. Get your first look at Braun, Doman, Powell, Thomas, and Aidem in the episode in the photos below.

Elsbeth Season 4 Episode 2 airs on Thursday, October 15, at 9/8c on CBS, titled, “Death of a Playwright.”

Here’s what to expect in the episode: “When a young playwright’s suspicious death rocks the world of New York theater, Elsbeth [Carrie Preston] finds several suspects waiting in the wings. Meanwhile, Captain Wagner [Wendell Pierce] faces pressure from the new mayor and the police commissioner over the city’s increased murder rate and budgets.”

As previously announced, Braun plays Jeremy Perrick, the son of a famous American playwright who has spent his whole life in the shadow of his celebrated father.

Doman plays said father, Richard Perrick, a giant of the American theater at the end of his life.

Aidem stars as Sheila Perrick, a former actress and Richard Perrick’s second wife. She is devoted to her son and eager for him to find himself.

Thomas stars as Lenny Swift, Richard Perrick’s longtime friend and producer, keeper of the flame and the great man’s secrets.

Powell stars as Nelson Thibodeau, an up-and-coming “theater maker,” whose relentless humble bragging makes him a target.

Dorfman stars as Klea Zane, a playwright determined to bring down Nelson.

Elsbeth Season 4 premieres on Thursday, October 8, at a new time, 9/8c. It will air at 9/8c throughout Season 4 now that Matlock Season 3 has moved to a midseason premiere at CBS.

Previously announced Elsbeth Season 4 guest stars are Nicole Scherzinger and Boston Blue‘s Gloria Reuben in Episode 1, and New York Knicks star OG Anunoby, Lea Michele, Sam Richardson, Jemima Kirke, and Nat Faxon.

The Elsbeth Season 4 premiere is titled “Crazy In Love.” In it, Elsbeth crosses paths with renowned marriage counselor Serena Collyer (Scherzinger), whose cool demeanor hides a murderous and messy passion. Also, Teddy (Ben Levi Ross) sets a wedding date.

Also returning in the fourth season are Britne Oldford and Molly Price, who play two of Elsbeth’s NYPD chaperones, Detectives Nina Taylor and Jackie Donnelly, respectively.

Danny Mastrogiorgio will be back as Detective Smullen, as will Lindsay Mendez as Officer Grace Hackett.

Elsbeth was created by Robert and Michelle King, with Jonathan Tolins serving as showrunner.
