HGTV’s David Bromstad Hilariously Interrupted by Fan While Filming ‘My Lottery Dream Home’

HGTV star David Bromstad shared a sweet moment with a fan who interrupted the filming for My Lottery Dream Home because he was so excited to see the TV personality out in the wild.

The official HGTV Instagram account shared a clip of the funny incident on Sunday (September 20), captioning the post “Love his enthusiasm! #MyLotteryDreamHome.”

In the clip, Bromstad is seen sitting on a low wall speaking with a client when a fan walks into the shot. “Hi, how are you?” Bromstad asks as the man approaches. “I watch your show,” the fan says.

“Ah, you have good taste,” the home designer replies. “Thank you!”

“I love it!” the excited fan continues as he goes in for a fist bump.

Bromstad returns the gesture, saying, “Thank you. I appreciate you.”

A producer then appears and tells the man, “We’re in the middle of filming right now. Sorry, thanks.”

“Let him have his moment!” Bromstad says before quipping, “I knew I liked this place.”

Fans jumped into the comments to share their appreciation for the sweet moment and how accommodating Bromstad was.

“Love when he says ‘let him have his moment’ another proof of his great personality,” wrote one commenter.

“That producer was rude but David was so gracious,” said another.

“Thanks! David for being kind,” another added.

Another wrote, “The fan was so calm and genuinely excited. He did a much better job than I would if I see David in these streets. I’m acting a plumb fool! That producer would’ve been dragging me away from there.”

Bromstad has been a fan favorite on the network ever since winning the first season of HGTV Design Star in 2006. He went on to host his own shows, including Color Splash, Beach Flip, and My Lottery Dream Home. The latter follows Bromstad as he helps lottery winners find a luxurious property after striking it rich.
