‘General Hospital’ Alum Kelly Sullivan Joins ‘B&B’ — Meet Dylan’s Mother Darcy

Kelly Sullivan has joined The Bold and the Beautiful in a new role, TV Insider can report exclusively.

Sullivan will portray Darcy Dylan, the mother of Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock), who arrives in Los Angeles as her daughter finds herself caught in the increasingly tense conflict between the Forrester and Spencer families. She began filming on Tuesday, August 4.

The actress is no stranger to daytime television. From 2011 to 2014, Sullivan played General Hospital‘s fashion magazine editor Kate Howard, who suffered from dissociative identity disorder and had a brazen alter ego, Connie Falconeri.

She then joined The Young and the Restless from 2014 to 2016 as Sage Warner, who became romantically involved with Adam Newman (played at the time by Justin Hartley) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Sage gave birth to Adam’s son, Christian Newman, before the character’s death. Sullivan earned Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress for both performances, in 2014 and 2017, respectively.

Her other credits include The Morning Show, Never Have I Ever, The Winchesters and Chicago P.D. Sullivan also stars in the upcoming film, Ethan Almighty: Ethan’s Law, with Kelsey Grammer, Brandon Routh (ex-Seth Anderson, One Life to Live) and Trevor Donovan (ex-Jeremy Horton, Days of our Lives).

Sullivan’s casting further expands the Dylan family on the CBS soap. Melissa “Missy” Dylan was introduced on B&B in June 2024 as a preschool art teacher who was drawn into Luna Nozawa’s (Lisa Yamada) dangerous orbit after Luna tied her up at gunpoint to lure Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) into a trap. Dylan later accidentally struck and killed Luna with her car.

She then befriended Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) and Will Spencer (Crew Morrow), who discovered she was homeless. They offered her a room at Will’s beach house and helped her secure a job at Forrester Creations. Dylan eventually developed feelings for Will, creating tension with Electra before moving out.

After it was revealed in May that Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) is Dylan’s cousin, Bullock told TV Insider she hoped the show would delve deeper into her character’s backstory — a wish that’s now becoming a reality with Sullivan’s casting.

“I would love to learn more about Dylan and where she came from, why she is the way she is, and makes the decisions she makes,” Bullock said. “I’ve made interpersonal or internal decisions just as an actor, trying to justify all of your character’s choices, and why they are the way they are, but I would love to get more details and further information about Dylan. She’s a big mystery, so I feel like there’s a lot to uncover.”

Sullivan debuts as Darcy Dylan on August 27.
