Hoda Kotb Goes on Family Summer Vacation With Ex Joel Schiffman

Hoda Kotb‘s summer has been full of reunions with her ex-fiancé, Joel Schiffman.

On Friday, July 31, the former Today host took to Instagram to share several photos from her family’s recent beach vacation. “Nothing like being in the same place at the same time #Family,” she captioned the upload. Kotb was joined on the trip by her two daughters, Haley and Hope, her mom, Sameha, her sister, Hala, her brother, Adel, and other loved ones.

The upload featured snaps and clips of Kotb and her family soaking up the sun on the beach and in the pool and spending quality time together at restaurants and at the resort they stayed at. Fans were quick to spot Schiffman among the photos.

“So happy Joel was there too,” one user commented underneath the post. Another added, “What beautiful family shots & Joel goes with you. So beautiful!” Someone else shared, “I LOVE seeing how wonderful you share your time with these precious girls and Joel. So important to teach them love and respect…truly heartwarming.”

A different person posted, “Glad to see Joel in the picture.” A separate commenter shared, “Joel!!! Good to see him with you all!!!” Another user gushed, “Love seeing Joel with kids. SMART MAMA.” Somebody else wrote, “Great photos! Nothing like a beautiful family. Enjoy and have fun in the sun!”

Kotb quietly dated Schiffman for two years before going public with their romance in 2015. The former couple adopted Haley in 2017, followed by Hope in 2019. Schiffman popped the question the same year they welcomed their youngest daughter. In January 2022, Kotb surprised fans by announcing that she and Schiffman had split over the holidays.

“We decided that we are gonna start this new year and begin it, kind of, on our new path as loving parents to our adorable, delightful children, and as friends,” she shared on Today at the time. “And it’s not like something happened. They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, for a season, or for a lifetime, and I feel like ours was meant to be there for a season.”

Kotb and Schiffman have remained friendly coparents over the years, often reuniting for their kids’ special moments, such as holidays and birthdays. Kotb occasionally features Schiffman on her social media feed, including celebrating his birthday in May and Father’s Day in June.

Most recently, Kotb reunited with Schiffman while attending a 2026 FIFA World Cup game in June. “Happy world cup!!! France vs Sweeden @joy101,” Kotb captioned Instagram photos from the game on June 30. The upload featured a selfie she and Schiffman took outside of Met Life Stadium.

“You and Joel are pretty sweet together,” one fan commented underneath the World Cup pics. Another added, “So happy to see you with Joel!” Someone else shared, “Great picture of you and Joel.”

Others interpreted the photo as a hint that Kotb and Schiffman have rekindled their romance. “WE LOVE JOEL!!!! And we love a soft (re)launch!!! One life to live @hodakotb !!!! So cool you got to see that game!!! #HodaSuperfan,” a different person posted. A separate commenter said, “I hope you are back with Joel, life’s too short.” (Kotb has not publicly confirmed if she and Schiffman have gotten back together.)
