Sam Hanna is back, and he has a new partner. LL Cool J and Scott Caan are teaming up for a new NCIS spinoff this fall, and on Friday, July 31, CBS posted a behind-the-scenes video from set with filming underway.
This new look at the series reveals the offices of NCIS: New York as well as other behind-the-scenes clips, including LL Cool J and Caan, who star as Sam Hanna (from NCIS: Los Angeles) and Nick Schaeffer, respectively. Watch it below.
LL Cool J’s NCIS: LA costars commented on the post on Instagram. ” It’s like ageing isn’t allowed on @llcoolj,” Daniela Ruah wrote, with a fire emoji. ” Let’s go boys!!” Caleb Castille added, with three flames.
The new series sees Sam return to his hometown of New York City to the NCIS field office, where he partners up with the roguish Nick and helps lead a new team as they are tasked with high-stakes missions to defend one of the most vital cities and ports in the world.

The series also stars Jennifer Beals, Jacqueline Byers, Shane Harper, and Devin Druid to round out the series regular cast and team.
Beals plays Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells, the director of the NCIS New York field office who leads with her intuition and is widely respected by her team. Byers’ NCIS Special Agent Addison “Addy” Ross, who is a rock-solid, tough, and resourceful agent with something to prove. Harper plays NCIS Special Agent Wyatt Hill, who is fearless, sharp, highly skilled in the field, and a hopeless romantic. And Druid’s NCIS Tech Specialist Sean Sullivan, who is witty and brilliant but resistant to authority.
