Erin Napier is asking fans for help as Home Town: Inn This Together comes to a close.

The final episode of the Home Town spinoff aired on Sunday, May 31, and saw Erin, her husband, Ben Napier, and their friends, Jim and Mallorie Rasberry, and Josh Nowell, complete renovations on the Heirloom Hotel in Laurel, Mississippi. Ahead of its opening day, the group gave a few local officials a first look at the building’s transformation.

“It’s not just a hotel, it’s a building that’s saved. It is a corner of downtown that is saved,” Ben stated in a confessional. Erin added, “It’s an upstart in the economy that wasn’t there. It’s a morale booster. When the people who live here see that dilapidated building finally restored after 40 years of being vacant, it says something, and it says there’s no going back from here.”

At the end of the episode, the show aired footage of the damage caused by the hotel’s August 2025 fire. Despite the heartbreaking setback, the episode ended on an optimistic note, highlighting that the group has resumed renovations on the historic building.

“For Laurel, this hotel, it means a lot,” Ben said, while Erin noted, “It doesn’t seem possible to me sometimes, but then, I know them. And I know that they don’t quit. They don’t give up on anything, and they’re gonna see it through. I’m so proud.”

A message on screen read, “With deep commitment and community support, the ‘Framily’ continues to restore the Heirloom building.”

According to Erin’s latest Instagram post, the hotel is struggling to receive insurance money to help with the rebuild. “My dear friend, Mr. Amos Sledge, age 11, hopes @libertymutual hears his plea and does the right thing. So do I,” Erin captioned the Sunday upload, which featured photos of the letters Amos wrote to Liberty Mutual.

The first note read, “I am writing this letter because in big companies, big decisions are made with a group of smart people. And I know you are on the board of this company because they think your input is valuable. And I wanted you to get this since I know your job is to make big decisions. I think this is a big decision.”

In a longer letter, Amos wrote that he was sending his message on “behalf of my friends who own The Heirloom Hotel,” and encouraged the company to watch Home Town: Inn This Together if they hadn’t already. Amos also highlighted how the hotel “has not only affected the small town of Laurel, but has changed the lives of many across the nation.”

The letter continued, “Our country has been in a hard time lately. This hotel and this show have shown truth and beauty, and what hard work and true friendship can do. As of right now, your company has not approved their claim to have the money to rebuild. It is heartbreaking to watch the show and see how hard they worked. They put it all on the line. I am writing to ask respectfully that you please approve their claim. This is your chance to prove Liberty Mutual is different.”

At the end of the letter, Amos wrote, “This is not about any little town, but a town that is a beacon of light for our nation. If you do the right thing, it will keep the light shining.”

In an Instagram post of his own, Ben noted that “it has been nearly a year since the fire, and our friends are STILL waiting on @libertymutual to complete the claim.” He added, “We don’t know what the future holds, but we know God holds us. Thanks for watching the biggest thing to happen in downtown Laurel in a long time.”

Following Sunday’s finale, the Heirloom Hotel’s Instagram page announced that fans can help support the hotel’s rebuild by purchasing photo rails made from the hotel’s original flooring. “It makes us feel encouraged as we look at these, that no matter how damaged — beautiful things can still come from the ashes,” read the upload. “We build because of the people we’re building for and we hope you will too.”

Probably what Liberty spends in advertising in one year would cover the insurance claim - COME ON LIBERTY DO THE RIGHT THING.

Every time I see a Liberty Mutual commercial now I will think of the foot dragging in paying out on the devastating fire at the Heirloom Inn in Laurel, MS. Really bad look for this insurance company.

I think Liberty Mutual missed a golden opportunity to shine and give life to their ads as a company with integrity an compassion for thier insureds. There couldn't be a better high profile situation that they could have capitalized on for their company's reputation and their clients welfare, instead of taking a course of action that injures their reputation and the hearts and financial well-being of those who deserved superior service. My heart goes out to Malorie and Jim and the City of Laurel for a trully heartbreaking event.

I am so sorry that this happened to you folks.

Unfortunately, @libertymutual has no idea who Josh, Jim, and Mallorie are. from Home Town. They only know them as a claim number, what their policy benefits are, and how much they have to pay out.

I watched the Home Town: Inn this together” episode and cried for the people who had worked so tirelessly on the hotel and put everything they had on the line. Liberty Mutual needs to stop worrying about crossing the t’s, dotting the i’s and get a check sent out to allow these people to get back to what they know and love! People like these make this world better by being in it. Turtles like Liberty Mutual needs to get on a high speed train and do right by them. Ellen Gentry in Kentucky.

I would like Libert Mutual to see what is at thier feet. An amazing, golden opportunity for good will and good press Nation wide for years to come. This hotel is a beacon of hope and faith. Buy into to it, support this effort and pro ide the insurance payout. I bet the Framily would even consider putting a plaque on the building in honor of Liberty Mutual stepping up to do the right thing and going above and beyond to fund this rebuild.

Liberty Mutual- come out from behind your corporate walls and feed humanity, feel the love in this amazing project and come along side. Soooo many good things for your company, the town of Laurel and the entire HGTV Nationwide family can and will come from doing the right thing here. Please step up.

I am a contractor who also does insurance work. I have had to have home owners take liberty mutual to court 3 times. We won all 3 times. They are ridiculous to work with.

Sorry to hear what your going through but sadly it typical of them. Same with SF and AllS****.

    Good luck!!

My son and I enjoyed the show and was shocked it burned down. Hope you can find the money to rebuild it again. Told my son it would be great to see it rebuild just like it was shown on TV. Everyone did a great job in restoring it.

I am presenting shopping for our personal insurance, and this gives me pause to even consider Liberty Mutual. If I hear it takes a commercial policy to drag out for over a year, how are they going to handle poor little me??? Liberty Mutual, step up to the plate and take care of your obligations.

I am not defending Liberty Mutual, but could it be due to a dispute with the electrical company’s insurance company since it was caused by an electrical malfunction? Praying the insurance company gets their act together quickly.

    1. M

Liberty Mutual can pay and then take the electric company to court. Their reputation is on the line and if they do not step up, business will drop off. SMH

Liberty Mutual is no doubt looking to find negligence on someone's part to recoup any payout they make but this does not look good and they look like the Big Bad Wolf in this story. Praying for a move of God on this project and look at that sign still in one piece!!!

If I was an insurance company CEO that competed with Liberty Mutual I would step in and fix the fire damage on my dime. Can you imagine the positive press coverage that decision would create?

Liberty Mutual is simply doing what they always do. They are thieves and don't care anything about the quality of people's lives.

  25. E

    I highly doubt that.

If an electrical fire happens in my house, I can't blame my electric company/provider. The only way that would work would be if there was a spark or issue at a close proximity transformer that would have started a fire or if any of the electrical lines running into the building were on fire for some reason. There is no evidence, or even talk of, anything like that happening (I'm sure if that were the case, it'd be made known very clearly), so the electric company has nothing to do with any of this.

My best guess is that they are trying to find proof of "negligence" by the owners/electrician (which, if it was the electrician's fault, unfortunately, that would be for the owners' to have to fight on their own then with the [hopefully insured] electrician's insurance company for "negligence" or some kind of "fault" since they would have hired the electrician) that would absolve them of having to cover this out of their pocket. Insurance companies LOVE to find reasons to not pay the things they are literally put in place to cover, and their favorite way to do that (from my experience) is by finding someone to blame, or "at fault." Even if it takes them over a year. 🤦🏼‍♀️😒

those silly liberty ads, wouldn't it be smarter business to cover the damage of the hotel that is televised and beloved?

A hotel building that size constructed of wood is REQUIRED BY CODE to have fire sprinklers, and I didn't see any in the TV show. That could be a part of the insurance holdup.

    1. D

      Doncampbell4692

Building inspector signoff was done, right? Roof HVAC I assume, but nobody is discussing faulty equipment or wiring mistake. Only talk is hurry to get it up and running.

  30. F

I think Liberty Mutual has shown their true colors when it came time to honor this policy, they have refused to pay out. I strongly recommend that others should avoid relying on this company for their coverage.

  31. L

    Lynn

That $50,000 loan note each month has to hurt. I agree, with a lot of the comments... The world is watching Laurel. And Liberty doing what's right would bring hope and joy to many.Sometimes I wonder if powers that be even want people to have hope and joy anymore. But God.will have last say. I can't stand those Liberty Mutual commercials. I will turn volume down on tv. To me heavy advertising is a desperate sign.

  32. D

    Dennis Link

I think everyone that likes Home Town should boycott Liberty Insulation. If they screw over the folks on a national tv show what do you think they are going to do some family with a claim?!

  33. F

    FairClaimVoice

It is difficult to understand why a claim with documentation and full cooperation cannot be resolved. If an insurance company is unable to make a timely decision and honor their commitments, when dealing with honest and hardworking policyholders, then perhaps people should consider whether this is a company they can rely on. At this point it is reasonable for people to ask themselves whether this is an insurer they should continue doing business with.

  34. J

    JBmom

Liberty Mutual should stop spending so much on their stupid ads and help make this right- these hard working people put so much of themselves into this project - what's the hold up! Do the right thing.

I cried when I saw the ending…so sorry- God sees the big picture. I know it’s hard to trust when things like this happen. Ultimately- this is not our home, but I still hope you all get it rebuilt.🙏🏻

    KitKat

First the roof, now this? Maybe they should start looking closely at their contractors.

  37. H

    Happy the Hard

It says the sprinkler system was off for ongoing electrical work. I'm sure there's way more to the story but an insurance company is not going to pay for negligence like that.

  38. E

    Edie5255

Just watched. I thought the hotel was suppose to open before the holidays. They said if it didn't open by then that they would have to wait for the summer for a lot of guests. But it burnt in August.

    1. L

      Loriwillmer

I agree with Edie. A “holiday rush to open”…..in August????

    2. K

      Kelley1222

"In the HGTV spinoff series "Home Town: Inn This Together," the series concluded with an ending that set the opening right before the holidays. However, the show's television timeline compressed events for dramatic pacing. In reality, the beautifully restored property was just a few weeks away from opening when it was devastated by an accidental electrical fire on August 26, 2025"

  39. B

    Befrank

Ben and Erin are millionaires. Why don’t they loan their friends the money to rebuild the hotel until the insurance company pays out. They should not hesitate.

    1. B

      Been there.

There maybe more involved then them just giving money to rebuild.
