‘American Idol’s Jamal Roberts Teases Game Show Cameo With Another Celeb Encounter

Jamal Roberts has been given so many incredible opportunities since winning American Idol about a year ago, and the latest one had him crossing paths with a famous face. Roberts took to Instagram to post a photo of the celebrity encounter and reveal the impact the meeting had on him.

The singer’s next venture will be on an episode of Family Feud, which is hosted by Steve Harvey. Along with his photo with Harvey, Roberts wrote, “Wow, Mr. Steve Harvey spoke so much life into today. All I can say is, all is well. The things God is doing in my life is just #perfect #staytuned.”

Roberts won Season 23 of American Idol in May 2025 and recently returned to the show to perform his new single, “Perfect for Me.” While promoting the song in Los Angeles, he ran into Stevie Wonder at a radio station, and gushed about the meeting in another recent Instagram post.

“Still in a state of shock!!! one of my biggest vocal hero’s… the legendary Stevie Wonder came to meet me at my radio interview today because he’s a fan,” Roberts wrote. “LA did not disappoint this week!”

In a second post, he added, “Mannn I was nervous taking the picture. The legend himself Stevie wonder came into my radio interview today and told me he was a fan. and just told me to come to a studio session. say less that sounds perfect to me.”

Back at home, Roberts is a father to three daughters, and he recently revealed that he bought a new house in Mississippi. “It’s on three acres of land, a four-bedroom, two-bath [house],” he shared on the American Idol podcast. “I’d seen it online, and I used to drive by it all the time and thought nothing of it. It’s a beautiful home, just never thought I’d be in it.”

On May 11, another singer will join Roberts on the list of American Idol winners when the champion of Season 24 is revealed.
