Is John Wesley Shipp about to go from hero to heel in a flash?

Well, yeah, but not on The Flash. TV Insider has learned exclusively that the actor currently recurring as speedster Jay Garrick on The CW’s superhit—who previously played Barry Allen on the 90’s version of The Flash and won a pair of Daytime Emmys for his soap work in the ’80—will turn up on the February 22 episode of Blindspot (also executive produced by Flash‘s Greg Berlanti) as holistic healer Dr. Katz. And honestly, he sounds shiftier than Comedy Central’s squiggle-vision shrink of the same name.

Described as “a charming, warm and caring doctor who will do anything for his patients,” Shipp’s character is apparently harboring a dark secret beneath his “calm exterior.” Now, we all know it’s the quiet ones you gotta watch out for, so fingers crossed that Shipp gets to show off that nefarious edge he developed while holding Julianne Moore hostage on As the World Turns!
