Beth Behrs to Reunite with ‘2 Broke Girls’ Costar Kat Dennings on ‘Shifting Gears’
The dinner bell is going off because the 2 Broke Girls are reunited. Beth Behrs is set to make a guest appearance on Season 3 of Shifting Gears.
She starred in 2 Broke Girls with Kat Dennings, who plays Riley Parker on the ABC show. Both Dennings and Behrs played waitresses working at a New York diner on 2 Broke Girls.
On Shifting Gears, Behrs will play Dr. Johnson, a beautiful emergency room doctor who treats Riley for a back injury, on the Season premiere, according to a press release. Along with Dennings, Behrs will be reunited with executive producer Michelle Nader. The confirmation comes one day after the show hinted at her guest starring.
Behrs is fresh off of playing Gemma Johnson on the CBS comedy, The Neighborhood, which ran for eight seasons. She currently runs a podcast and has lent her voice to many animated movies.
The show centers on car shop owner Matt Parker (Tim Allen), who recently lost his wife but now lives with his divorced daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings), and her two children, Georgia (Barrett Margolis) and Carter (Maxwell Simkins).
At the end of Season 2, Riley was stuck in a love triangle as her ex-boyfriend, Andy (Jesse Williams), wanted to get back together with her at the same time as Gabe (Seann William Scott) said he wanted to be in a relationship with her. Who will she choose? Plus, Matt and Eve Drake (Jenna Elfman) got back together as he traveled to Barcelona on tour with her. Will they last?

Has Shifting Gears been renewed for Season 3?
Yes! Shifting Gears will return for a third season on ABC. The news was confirmed on April 30 when the cast posted an Instagram video with them all shouting “Three!”
“And… we’re back!” Allen said.
“Hop in, we’re driving to season 3 #ShiftingGearsABC is returning for a new season!” the Instagram post was captioned.

Who will star in Shifting Gears Season 3?
The series’ regular cast — Allen, Dennings, Scott, Margolis, Simkins, and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, who stars as Stitch — will all return.
Elfman revealed that she will return for a handful of episodes. Season 2 also guest-starred Williams, Mookie Betts, Pamela Adlon, and Luke Macfarlane as Sam Parker. With Sam’s admission of quitting the Navy, he may have more of a guest role next season.

When will Season 3 of Shifting Gears premiere?
Although an exact premiere date has not been announced, the ABC sitcom will air mid-season, likely in early 2027, despite Season 2 having high ratings. In July, Dennings shared that they were filming the new season.
The Tim Allen-led show was the number one comedy on the network last season, but that didn’t convince the showrunners to give it a full season run. Season 1 only had 10 episodes, airing from January to March. Season 2 had only 13 episodes, despite airing from October to February. Now, it appears Season 3 will get Season 1 treatment with a shortened season.
Where can you watch Shifting Gears?
In season, the sitcom would air on ABC on Wednesday nights. We expect Season 3 to do the same. Past seasons can be streamed on Hulu.

Why so FEW episodes in a season? Very irritating to like a show and be disappointed by lack of episodes to watch.

Shifting Gears is a fantastic sitcom!! Cable need more 1/2 hr. Sitcoms!! Too many cop and cia shows and way too many reality shows!!! Let’s bring back laughs when we watch tv! I think we need more than 10 episodes for season 3. I love Tim and Kat together, they do well. I might not have cable, but I would surely subscribe to hulu just to watch this. GIVE US MORE EPISODES!
