‘Chicago Med’ Hits 200, Eli Manning Meets Chad Powers, Breaking News on ‘Morning Show,’ ‘Shark Tank’ Gains (Gaines) New Sharks

A familiar face returns to NBC‘s Chicago Med for its milestone 200th episode. Eli Manning visits the set of Chad Powers — as Chad Powers, the fake college football player he created for a stunt on Eli’s Places. The backstage drama takes a backseat to breaking news on The Morning Show. Chip and Joanna Gaines are first-time sharks on Shark Tank.

Chicago Med

What better way for a long-running medical show to mark a milestone like a 200th episode than by bringing back one of its original stars? Which explains why Nick Gehlfuss is back as Dr. Will Halstead, who left for Seattle (though not, apparently, for Grey’s Anatomy) at the end of Season 8. He’s in Chicago to take Owen, the son of his beloved Natalie (Torrey DeVitto), to a Bears game, but an emergency brings him to the doors of Gaffney, where his medical instincts snap back into place. This is the first of several episodes featuring Will, so the celebration is likely to continue. Followed by new episodes of Chicago Fire (9/8c) and Chicago P.D. (10/9c).

Every Tuesday on ABC and streaming next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+, Kaitlin Olson stars as Morgan Gillory, genius cleaning lady turned unconventional police consultant. Morgan works tirelessly to find justice for victims, earning the respect of her by-the-book partner Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). Though her approach may be unique, the brilliant mother of three brings her high intellect and signature style to the LAPD Major Crimes Division. Season 2 explores character backstories and delves deeper into the mystery of Morgan’s missing ex Roman, with plenty of new faces and cases to come.

Eli’s Places

Back in 2022, Eli Manning donned a wig and facial prosthetics, pretending to be a walk-on candidate named Chad Powers during open tryouts at Penn State for a segment of Eli’s Places. His masquerade became a viral hit and inspired the current Hulu comedy Chad Powers, with movie star Glen Powell playing a broader, sillier version of the faux college-football star. An irrepressible ham, Manning (an executive producer of the series) can’t stop himself from putting the disguise back on and visiting the Chad Powers set, where his Chad comes face to fake face with Powell’s Chad. “You’re Roger Moore to my Sean Connery,” Manning quips as he tours the set, eventually becoming Eli again to perform his one-line cameo that aired in this week’s episode. And thus a star is very much not born.

The Morning Show

Backstage intrigue continues to swirl in this media melodrama, where prodigal anchor Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) is sneaking around with former CEO Cory (Billy Crudup) when she’s not conspiring with former executive producer Chip (Mark Duplass) to expose a cover-up that could further damage the network’s reputation. And what happens when actual news breaks out? The understaffed crew of TMS is about to find out if they can carry on without their boss, Mia (Karen Pittman) — who just quit after being denied a promotion — when they scramble to cover a potential disaster in progress.

Shark Tank

HGTV stars and Magnolia Network founders Chip and Joanna Gaines are the latest entrepreneurial moguls to take their place among the sharks, hearing pitches from would-be small business hopefuls. This week’s products seem especially well-suited for these do-it-yourselfers, including a cleaning device for homegrown eggs, a reusable paint tray, and a line of superfood seasoning. Don’t be surprised if some of these goodies turn up on one of the Gaines’ many series.

Late Night With Seth Meyers

Taylor Swift‘s media blitz continues with what they’re calling a “TAY/kover” of the late-night show. It’s her third visit to Studio 8G, following appearances in 2014 and 2021, and they’ll have plenty to talk about as Meyers takes a closer look at the superstar, her not-so-private life, and her recently released The Life of a Showgirl album.
