Face Off

Face Off, "Let the Games Begin," Tuesday, Jan. 27, 9/8c, Syfy

The addictive creature-design competition, Syfy's most-watched unscripted series, is bringing in some of the fantasy industry's best-known players for its eighth season. Having welcomed Oscar-winning makeup legend Rick Baker for the two-part season opener, the latest guest is The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson (Peeta). He joins the movie franchise's make-up department head Ve Neill and her fellow judges Glenn Hetrick and Neville Page, to preside over this week's challenge. The contestants, working on teams supervised by past seasons' winners (Rayce Bird, Anthony Kosar and Laura Tyler), are tasked to create cinema-inspired deadly predators under incredible time pressure. Not everyone will succeed, but thankfully, this is all happening in Hollywood, not Panem, so the loser is only sent packing (not to some more dreadful fate.)
