‘Big Mood’ Returning to Tubi for Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Big Mood Season 2 is officially a go at Tubi after the streamer announced it would run the next chapter of Channel 4’s comedy. The British import will see Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West reprise their roles as pals Maggie and Eddie for another chapter in their onscreen friendship.
Channel 4 renewed Big Mood in February 2025, and Tubi’s pick-up of Season 2 teases the series will drop sometime in the 2025-2026 TV season. Meaning, we’re closer to Maggie and Eddie’s return than ever before. Below, we’re breaking down everything we know about Big Mood Season 2 so far, and stay tuned for any important updates in the months ahead.
When will Big Mood Season 2 premiere?
No premiere date has been announced by Channel 4 or Tubi at this time, but considering Big Mood Season 1 dropped on the platform in April 2024, there’s a chance the release window could stick, making way for another April arrival in 2026, but only time will tell for certain. Following the first season’s arrival, series creator Camilla Whitehill said during a podcast interview in July 2024, “I’m writing Big Mood Series 2… a few episodes have been commissioned…” This means that the writing is likely close to done, if not already on Season 2. Pending Coughlan and West’s availability, production could probably begin quite quickly.

What will Big Mood Season 2 be about?
As viewers will recall, Season 1 concluded with Maggie and Eddie’s friendship in tatters after a mental health episode led Maggie to miss accompanying Eddie for an abortion. After previously planning to take a trip together, Eddie was seen leaving her family’s bar as a saddened Maggie watched on. In Season 2, things are picking up a year later, and the duo hasn’t seen each other or been in touch. When Maggie returns for a wedding, she isn’t alone, and Maggie has competition in the form of an infuriatingly positive spiritual healer named Whitney.
Can Maggie and her special brand of chaos find space in Eddie’s new life? Or will Maggie lose Eddie forever? Fans will have to tune in to find out when Big Mood returns.
Who makes Big Mood Season 2?
Written and created for television by Camilla Whitehill, Big Mood Season 2 will see Rebecca Asher return as director. Executive producers for the series include Lotte Beasley Mestriner, Laurence Bowen, Chris Carey, and Whitehill. Tubi will co-produce the season with Channel 4 and Fremantle’s Dancing Ledge Productions.
What have the stars said about Big Mood Season 2?
When it came to the possibility of a second season, Big Mood stars Coughlan and West were interested in exploring the origin of Maggie and Eddie’s friendship. “If we get a Season 2 — touch wood — I really want a flashback scene to when they met,” Coughlan told TV Insider. “I’d love that. That would be so funny,” West countered.
“And it would be full Indie sleaze,” Coughlan added as she continued to paint a metaphorical picture. Will this vision come to life? We’ll keep our fingers crossed. Until then, stream Big Mood anytime on Tubi.
