‘Days of Our Lives’ Cast Send Heartfelt Messages Reassuring Fans About Peacock Move (VIDEO)
Days of Our Lives will be making the move from NBC to Peacock on Monday, September 12. Although some fans of the long-running soap opera (57 years and counting!) are dismayed by this news, as their beloved show now requires a streaming subscription, Peacock is now offering a new deal that would make its monthly fee just $1.99 for 12 months starting September 12. Some of the biggest Days stars helped spread the word on Instagram.
Robert Scott Wilson (formerly Ben Weston, now back as Alexander Kiriakis) urged fans to come on board by stating there will be “less commercials, no interruptions” with the move to Peacock in his video, recorded in his dressing room. James Reynolds (Abe Carver) reminded viewers that “soaps are all about relationships. And the one we have with you means the world to us” in his.
Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez DiMera) reassured fans that “moving doesn’t have to be daunting” and “it just wouldn’t be home with you” in her video message. And Deidre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans), who started on Days in 1976, said the 40+ years she has spent on Days means she considers viewers of the show family.
As she said in her clip, “You can’t be a part of something that long and just call it a job. We’re a family. As our loyal viewer, I consider you to be a part of that family.”

“Let’s make the transition together. We want you to come with us and continue our special journey,” she continued. “From all of the Hortons, the DiMeras, the Bradys, the Kiriakises, the Price-Carvers, the Hernandez, the Johnsons, and most importantly, the Evans-Black family, we love you. And we’re so grateful for your ongoing support.”

The Days team rang in the move from network to streaming in an on-set celebration on August 22. Executive producer Ken Corday (son of show creator Ted Corday) gave a celebratory toast commemorating the big change.
“In the early 1950’s my father, Ted Corday, the creator of Days of our Lives, was directing The Guiding Light a 15 minute daytime drama on CBS radio and also on the new CBS television network. Same script. Same cast. Same day. Both broadcasts were Live to the nation. Radio at 11:00 and Television at 2:00…both live broadcasts,” he said. “He told his radio staff in 1956 that they would all be out of work within a few years because everyone would be watching this new thing called TV instead of listening to the radio. He was right. He was a pioneer. Later he directed and produced As the World Turns solely on CBS television. It became the first 1/2 hour daytime drama,” Corday said in a statement about the historic move in daytime TV.
“In 1975 Days went from a 1/2 show to an hour show…another first. He never feared change or what the future held…he embraced both. That pioneering spirit has been evident in the many thousands of episodes of Days produced over the last 58 years,” the EP continued. “Now we have pioneered into the streaming world of television in 2022 on the NBC Peacock platform. It is only appropriate that Days is the first daytime drama to be exclusively broadcast in this manner, and it is a very exciting and upward transition.”

I have watched DOOL for over 50 years and now it is ending. I am retired and live on a fixed income and cannot afford to purchase the Peacock channel. I sadly feel that they are going to lose many longtime viewers. This may be the end of the line for DOOL . I dont think it will be a good move for them. Sad to say.

If it helps, the price was reduced to $1.99 per month for one year if you subscribe in September. If you don't enjoy DAYS this way, you could cancel after one month.

I am heartbroken that NBC has decided to make this tragic move. I do not have the capabilities to stream on my television. Being disabled on a fixed income this is an expense I cannot afford. My children have told me I will have to purchase a streaming device on top of paying a monthly fee! This move is totally unfair to the loyal fans that have watched DOL for many years and cannot afford this move! I feel like NBC only cares about making money & no concern for the fans of their programs. I am seriously considering boycotting ALL NBC programming due to this decision‼️

I also must say a sad goodbye to Days. Not everyone can afford to have internet in their home. Who's going to pay the $100 or more a month for me to even access Peacock? And then pay for Peacock on top of that? All I needed before was a TV and antenna.

I think DAYS is heading into a more dirty and obscene show that can’t be allowed on network TV.😡
We have gay Leo and his sick innuendos, lesbians Ali & Chanel,
it just makes me sick where this show started and where it is now .
I would never pay to watch it, quit watching during the second “possession “ and never should have looked back. I don’t live these life styles and I wouldn’t like most of these characters in real life . So long Days, so thankful you made the decision for me to end this 👋🏻👋🏻

Not that it matters, but I'm against the move. I've been watching Days from the beginning and I never thought I'd end up having to PAY for the privilege of watching it. Bring it back to network TV.

Sorry to say I will not be watching Days. Have watched since the 60’s but will not pay extra for streaming. Cable is costly enough. Shame on NBC for pushing this and depriving so many loyal fans of this show.

Very sad because a lot of the people who still watch this show are elderly that are home during the day to watch this but don't do streaming. They will be missing alot of viewers.

I've signed up for the Peacock bargain deal while cutting back (going to streamer Sling from overpriced cable) so I'm going to give it a year. DAYS has been a staple in my life since high school and I want to see where the writers take it, hopefully with better storylines and spicier dialogue that keeps up with the times. For those who are complaining, remember this move is keeping hundreds of people employed! Keep actors like Judi Evans and Wally Kurth on the payroll. I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet and you shouldn't be either!

A lot of us work and get off at5:00 so will we be Able to record days of our lives on the new channel otherwise I won’t get to see it anymore and I’ve been watching it since the early 60s when I was still in high school so I would love to continue watching it we bought the anniversary book years ago you’ve only had one that I know of when we bought it so please let us know if we’ll be able to record it so we can continue watching it thank you

When it is on Peacock you will be able to watch it whenever you want, as it is on demand. No need to record it anymore. Streaming you are in charge of when you watch it.

With Peacock, you never have to watch at a specific time or record it. The episode is loaded onto the platform at 6 am each weekday, and it is waiting for you to "click it" to watch it whenever you want to. You can even skip a day and watch the episode you skipped the next day, or the next weekend, or two weeks later. Whenever you like.

For those who have X1 and XFINITY FLEX, the Peacock Premium Plus can be accessed without extra cost. And as for the seniors who've watched DOOL forever and a day there is the ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program) that can take up to $30 (or $75 in some cases) off their Xfinity monthly bill. Compared to other streaming services PEACOCK is actually the least expensive. Don't give up. If this was available a decade or more ago GL, ATWT, AW, OLTL, AMC would still be with us. Perhaps a revamp of THE CITY,too.

just the cost of cable alone is enough to want me to get rid of it all but I loved Days and now that is going to cost ! what is wrong with people . I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford the $279 a month cable and not to add peacock ?? not going to happen .. unreal and it's not right !

I am not happy about the move to Peacock. As others have said, I am retired and cannot afford to pay extra to watch. I have watched Days of our Lives since it started back in the 60’s. I am sad that this has happened and being replaced with another news program.

I am somewhat worried that many fans will not be able to pay the fee! In recent years the writing has been awful and the show lost a lot of fans as well! They really need to STOP killing off main family characters!!!

Honestly, I am a life long fan who jumped through hoops as a child to watch it be updated about what was going on! I did occasionally have to attend school!!!
I was devastated when Peter left even though it was for all the right reasons!!!! I was furious by the way Ron treated Kristan Alfonso two years ago!!!!!
A bit of advice: Life long fans really aren't invested in new characters!!!
However, we are extremely loyal to original ones!!!!
and, most of us Hated the original Devil Story!!!
Why on earth would Ron bring it back for over a year???

I think it's just a money grab at the expense of people who have been loyal viewers for many years. TV executives don't seem to realize that they're breeding a situation in which viewers will no longer become attached to shows because of moves like this and they'll actually lose instead of gain viewers for TV shows. I stream on many platforms, but I will absolutely NEVER follow a show that began on a free broadcast network to a paid streaming platform.

Today I part company with Days. I am sorry to go. I can afford to pay for it, but I will not. I will miss Eric Martsolf and Deidre Hall, no one else. I started watching Y&R as soon as I heard the news. Guess what? I'm already involved and loving it. Days, you've been my favorite show for over 30 years: but later with you.

Been watching since before Marlena blew into town. 1st on a black-and-white TV, then a color TV, then through a satellite dish, then on cable, then we ditched cable and watched through the NBC app. And the app is the BEST way to watch. No more recording or missing shows. It's all there for streaming. And I can binge on weekends! And it has the other series Beyond Salem which shows different stories taking place around the world with characters who moved away. Who knew Megan Hathaway was still alive thanks to Rolf????!!! If you're not going to spend 2 bucks you're really missing out.

As some explained they r on fixed incomes an even 2 bucks is alot when u have ur monthly income counted out dollar 2 dollar. I feel 4 these ppl.
