‘FBI: Most Wanted’: Dylan McDermott Teases His Character’s Introduction (PHOTOS)
We still have a month until we meet Dylan McDermott’s new FBI: Most Wanted character, but you don’t have to wait until then for a tease of what to expect.
The star shared a couple of photos from set, though neither gives us a very good look of him, on March 10. For now, all we can see is it looks like he’ll be wearing a suit (which we could have assumed). All he wrote in the caption was the date of his first episode — April 12 — and the hashtag for the show. See the photos below.

McDermott is coming in as the Fugitive Task Force’s new leader, following Jess LaCroix (Julian McMahon) being killed in the line of duty in “Shattered.” There is the question of who will lead until his introduction. “In [the next] two episodes, it’s the team figuring that dynamic out, working through their grief and figuring out a way that they can work together and hanging over all of that is sort of this idea of who’s the new person gonna be,” showrunner and executive producer David Hudgins told TV Insider.
As for McDermott’s character, about whom we know very little, “we looked at it as an opportunity to reinvigorate, to shake up the dynamic. And so by the time he comes in in [Episode] 317, the team is eagerly awaiting to see what happens when he gets there. He shows up, and we’re off to the races,” the EP continued. “We were thinking it should be somebody who does have a different style than Jess, somebody who has a different outlook, maybe approaches the cases in a different way, but ultimately just like Jess, is motivated by justice, by getting the fugitive in every episode.”
Once McDermott joins, “we’re building out an arc for his character and an arc for the team and the other characters that will hopefully all intersect by the time we get to the finale,” Hudgins teased.

I'm sorry, I can't even see a picture of him that the hair doesn't stand up on the back of my neck.
Don't think I will be able to accept him as a good guy. I really, really, really hated Wheatley!!

I'd be willing to bet that not one person who commented here actually know Dylan McDermott. The fact that they are not liking him because he has played the 'bad guy' so many times is totally insane. He's an actor. He's a successful actor who chooses the parts he is given and if he is good as he believes is therefore very convincing in his portrayals. To dismiss him on the roles that he has played is just silly. Sorry, if I offended anyone but I personally look forward to this talented actor's interpretation of his latest part.

All the criticism about Dylan McDermott seem to be more about the characters he played. If you didn't like the character cheers for the good acting. Looking forward to the change.

I watched Most Wanted because I loved the Jess Lacroix character. It was a shame how his story ended but he loved his job and I don't think he would just retire on a whim as other people have suggested. His end fit the character, he died loving what he did. There's no one like him. I'll give Dylan McDermott a chance only because I like the rest of the team. But it's going to be hard especially since Wheatley was such a powerful force on L&O OC.

I agree with you. He loved his job and would never leave so what they did is the only way for the character to exit.

I had the same question for the writer - why Kill him? He could have been promoted, moved, family reasons. Besides, the direction at the end was too sudden and unrealistic for an expert to be shot in that manner.

I will not be going to watch the show , cause I don't care for Dylan McDermott and I didn't care for him when he was a villan in L&O with Elliot Stabler

Don’t know, maybe because of the parts he has played or because of a bit of his arrogance, I really don’t like him. I don’t think he will fit in.

I like Dylan McDermott and think he’ll do a great job with this role. I will miss Jess and wished they’d just let him take his vacation and decide to work abroad and not return…
People when you hate a villain, it simply means the actor is that good at his job and made it believable; don’t overthink it.
Give the man a chance to prove himself… I know he will!

As long as he doesn’t come back to L&O Organized Crime, I hated his character. I did like him on The Practice.

I love FBI Most Wanted and Jess LaCroix is good man but you don't want to get on his bad side, remember Sarah's ex husband who kept trying Jess patience. The writers could have put him in a coma or disable him leaving a possible come back. Sometimes when you kill a beloved character you kill the show.

I loved Jess Lacroix but since he is leaving the show and I have to move on. Another actor would have never played the part. I like Dylan McDermott too. Hated his character in L & O and am glad he will be a good guy.

I think Dylan was fabulous in The Practice. As a bad guy in law and order he could make you cringe. It's acting and he does it well! I'm looking forward to seeing how he fits it.

I like Dylan McDermott. I just wish they might have chosen someone who wasn't so pale. I mean does the FBI really not have any black or brown people in leadership roles? Not since Forest Whitaker has a person of color had the lead role. Disappointed!

He is really not the right person for this part, he has a dark outlook and he has played too many parts as bad guy.
