LL Cool J to Host and Perform at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee LL Cool J has been announced as the host of the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, airing live from The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Tuesday, March 22 on Fox.
The two-time Grammy winner is also set to perform at the event, which is now in its ninth year. The ceremony will celebrate the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2021 while previewing the upcoming hits of 2022. In addition, several awards in multiple categories will be presented, as well as live performances and surprise stage moments.
“It’s an honor to return to the stage as host of the iHeartRadio Music Awards and bring live music back to fans all over the world as we celebrate our favorite artists,” said LL Cool J in a statement. “I have a special performance for the fans, and the show will have some great surprises throughout the night. See you there!”
One of the artists being honored at this year’s event is Jennifer Lopez, who will receive the 2022 iHeartRadio Icon Award. The prize pays homage to Lopez’s impact on pop culture, longevity, and continued relevance as a touring and radio force.
Other artists nominated for awards include Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Silk Sonic, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Megan Thee Stallion, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, BTS, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, and many more.
Listeners of iHeartRadio will be given the opportunity to decide winners in several new and established categories, including Best Fan Army, Best Lyrics, Best Cover Song, Best Music Video, the Social Star Award, Favorite Tour Photographer, Best Comeback Album, TikTok Bop of the Year, and the first-ever TikTok Songwriter of the Year.
