Music superfans will be given the chance to show off their fandom in the brand new CBS game show, Superfan.

According to Deadline, the eye network has ordered the unscripted series, which will see music superfans testing their skills to prove they are a certain artist’s number one supporter. The series is described as a “musical spectacle disguised as a game show.”

The show will include several rounds of play where contestants must battle it out to advance in the competition. The person that makes it to the final round will then have the chance to prove they are the ultimate fan. The winner of each episode will be deemed a “superfan” and will win the ultimate experience with the featured artist.

Former CBS specials senior vice president Jodi Roth, Entertainment Tonight correspondent Keltie Knight, and The Misery Index executive producer Jack Martin are behind the project. All three will exec produce, with Martin serving as showrunner.

The series has also tapped a number of game show veterans to help with the production. Anton Goss (Match Game, Drop The Mic) is on board as production designer, Suzanne Bender (America’s Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle) serves as talent producer, and Jacqui Pitman (Face Off) will cast the series.

Roth left her position as CBS specials senior vice president in 2020 and formed her own production company with Knight, titled Yacht Money. Knight is also known for creating the podcast and E! show LadyGang.

Superfan joins CBS’s long-line of unscripted programming, which includes Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Love Island, Undercover Boss, and the upcoming dance competition series Come Dance with Me.

There is no word yet on when Superfan will begin production, who will host the show, or which artists will be featured.
